    Comments to the Police

Ever said something funny to the police and thought better of it later on????

    I did....

"Do you know the speed limit of this road?

    "Yes.... 50mph"

    "So.....How fast were you going?"

    "I dunno, I didn't look"

    Luckily I didn't get a ticket, or a producer....
Even though it did sound cheeky saying what I did... at least I was honest... and I guess the policeman had figured that out

wow normally they just get a "go f*&k yourself" comment from me.

The one I did regret saying was as follows:

Copper: "Did you not see us following you"
Me: "I didn't need to, I can smell bull**** a mile away"

hence a producer and they asked to search me car then i made it worse saying go get a warrant

Was funny as hell at the time but the 2 hours they took to check my licence when i went for the producer got me back I think

As a youth in a van that a friend had borrowed. We were parked up on a double yellow. One copper took my mate to inspect the contents of the van.

Me to the other copper: So, do you want me to move the van?
Copper 2:Are you able to drive?
    Me: Erm, No.

As a youth again. Different mate in a **** brown metro, speeding over the limit etc. Asks me - look out back, is it the police. I peer and squint (dark country lanes) - there is a car flashing it's main beams at us, but no blue lights. Five miles later when we eventually pull up at our destination, and police car parks up in front of us (oh ****).

Policeman: Didn't you see me flashing my lights?
Me:I did. Thought you was being friendly.

Driver breathalised (failed) but let of with a warning (copper was a friend of his Dad's)!

    'Make mine a Spitfire, Landlord!'

It was dark and I swirved round a bird or something on the road at the last second because i obviously didnt see it until it was pretty close. 5 seconds later the car behind me turns on its police lights so I pull over.

*note, I half knew the police man but he apparently didnt know me*
"That was pretty erratic driving back there"
    "I was avoiding a bird"
"I didnt see a bird" *said as if I was lying*
    "Maybe you were drunk!"

Luckily he didnt shoot me and later I thought I probably shouldnt have said that.

Things like that are quite annoying Raz. If you have to make avoiding action you may the get stick from the cops, and they may be far too busy making sure they remember your number plates to watch for whatever it was you swerved to avoid. Suppose saying he was drunk is not the cleverest thing, but him not seeing it just shows how difficult it was to spot and shows that you are aware of your surroundings... ish.
