Get the CRX and v-tec it. Put some nice alloys on, lower it a touch and it'll be the most funnest car youve ever had

Thanks to Confused.com I found that to my surprise, lots of places will insure me on the CRX with the VTEC engine fitted! Admiral have so far quoted me just over £1200 TPFT or £1750 fully comp!
It had a fully respray in 2002 so the paint work is still pretty good, couple of patches of rust on the rear arches I'd have sorted and the underside will be waxoyld (sp?). THEN I'd think about the engine transplant, cos let's be honest, it's not exactly slow to start with.
We shell see on Saturday how much it will all cost...
do a search for Honda Forums and Revolutions, a great site with well knowledgeable people, these guys and girls will be able to help you with any technical queries. also has a 'for sale' section.

you want RAW ?
buy a mini - it dont get much more raw than that.
I had one for a year and can honestly I've not driven anything like it apart from a go kart
if you want to be silly , get the VTEC lump fitted to one ( for an example of how fun this can be , check out ringmini.de )
it would also be cheap enough to serve as a car you can run for a year while you save cash and NCB for something with a little more kick

there is a high miler DC2 Integra Type R for just under £6k on the Honda Revolutions site. Dont let the milage put you off, Insurance might be a killer though .. (infact this should be in 'find me a bargain').Originally Posted by Russ

DC is just a code Honda use to identify a type of chassis ...
DC2 = Integra, all types (it has been around since 94 in the none R type forms, from 97-2000 as R types)
from 2001, the new Integra Type R uses the DC5 chassis code.(In america this is known as the RSX)
another is EP3 = 3 door Civic.
another code is for the engines. the Integra Type R uses the B18C engine where as the CRV uses H20 engine.
hmmm, im going ...

I'd ordered some Eibach lowering springs for it during the day. Went back to Halfords (got an amazing deal!) to cancel them monday morning, and the guy says I can have store credit if I wanted. I said no, so he says I could buy some T-CutOriginally Posted by Howard

Moby's right you cant beat a Mini (old, proper Mini) for serious driving pleasure.
Only problem with them is, if you have an accident, your dead. Full Stop. Bang bang, my baby shot me down.
Thats why i got a focus instead, alot less fun to drive, but i got 2 airbags and alot more chance of staying alive

Wow! What an awesome car
You'd honestly not think it was 14 years old and have 140k miles on it, the condition is astonishing, particularly the interior which is immaculate.
Had a good chat with the man in the know at the garage and the current plan is to get some new suspension on it (rear dampers are feeling a bit tired), sort out the couple of small rust patches under the paint, and the stone chips on the bonnet, and then recondition the engine and bore it out to 1800cc or thereabouts and use a pistons/conrods/etc kit.
Lots of work to start with but it will turn it into a fantastic car. Also investigating a quicker steering rack, as I'm used to 2.1 turns from the Alfa and the CRX is 4!
The good news is it's just had a new gearbox/clutch fitted with a short shifter, new near side drive shaft, filters and oil change.
Quite a good day really
buying it then?
Get a VAG diesel and chip it! Crazy torque all the way!
Seat Leon TDi (110) would be my choice
the leon is a great car , but if its an "experiance" mr Shad is after then I dont think it will float his boat.
