    Experience.....a Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo??

It'll give a E36 M3 a run for its money and you can get one for about £56K

I say Clio 16v, but im biased

You can pick them up for pennies, spend a little on bodywork and mechanics and you've got a good car. I only paid a grand for my car originally, little bit spent on bodywork and a few anciliaries and she's as good as new

What about getting a 156, they are quite cheap now. Thinking about one of those as the missuses next car (not for me, honest!)

No Sensei, i'm not kicking the mats to waste time, they have parted and I don't want to injure myself!

That's a very tidy Clio mate. My first was a Clio and I enjoyed driving it a lot.

However, the CRX has won my heart! It's closer to a race car than I thought I'd be able to get for some time. Just like the Alfa did, the noise and the whole experience has convinced me

    I love my Honda.
    I love the CRX.
But £1200+ for insurance? That's the value of the car and although I've done it before myself it was because I couldn't afford anything else. It surely isn't worth it.

    You really want raw?

    S/Hand Caterham 1.4.
It'll run rings round the CRX (though I hate to say it), be much rawer, cheaper to repair, cheaper to insure (I suspect), be kewl with yer mates and has even fewer safety features (the CRX will happily fit under most trucks anyway).

Caterham? Yes, one day, but a little too raw for day to day use I fear. Besides, the Mk1/2 CRX is now a very rare car.

I'm sure you all know what it's like when you have your heart set on something. I hope so anyway. It was the same with the Alfa and it's the same with the CRX

    >> Honda CRX 1.6 VTEC (NOT the Del Sol convertable) - would be a good investment, great engine, fantastic reliability, very quick. Shape is a matter of taste.

    >> Ford Puma 1.7 16v - of this selection - this is the all round best car in terms of price, reliability, handling, looks. Great fun to drive. Could do with more power. Cheap to maintain /service.

    >> Renault Clio 16v (circa 1995 ish) - great fun, very quick, fantastic handling. Appalling build quality. Dodgy reliability - particularly electrics. Trim rattles and fall off (practically ever Clio). A 1995 car's engine will probably have been thrashed to bits.
