something to plug either my cd player, or mp3 into my car, cant afford a proper head unit, plus my mom and dad dont like the idea of me taking off half the dashboard to fit it

anyway 3.5mm -> the tape i already got in there


not sure what its called, maybe just a 3.5mm to tape convertor ? i duno


but also where can i get one for not too much, i know halfords might sell me on, but no doubt itll be park of a in car cd kit and cost me something astonomically stupid

I work at Halfords mate, there is an adaptor available but we dont sell it. Argos or Index do, its basically a tape with a wire coming out of it with a standard plug on the end like what you would have on the end of ear plugs.

What car are you fitting it in to?? Most cars dont prove too much other to fit a stereo

i got a mk5 ford fiesta, so its all integrated into the dash i can take it out and put a cd player in, but i need to buy a fascia as well so it all fits ok

I used one of those for a while untill the left channel stopped working. Mind you it did cost me about £3 from Halfords.

Yeah thats what you should need if you can take out the cd player. The facia is £11.99 I think. Off the top of my head, it should have a tape deck that is whats called double din as it is twice the height of standard cd players. (A black front that you can remove the middle radio buttons at the bottom) If it is one, like in some Ford KA's where there are it looks like someone has but all the buttons up there nose, sneezed and left them where they landed then things are a bit more difficult.

Oh another thing you will need is an ISO lead to convert the standard Ford connections to the standard ISO leads that come from all stereos, think it is £11.99 for that again. Just saves the pain in the ass, of getting terminal blocks and hard wiring the stereo in.

Best to go in and ask so they can check specifically for you car. If you want to save some money on the stereo, find it in a shop (not internet or mail order) and get a quote or proof or how much it costs and Halfords will price match it for you. That way you get all the aftersales service crap you dont elsewhere!!

23 quid, for a cd player, mp3 player, and vcd player (hubba hubba, think of 5 inch tft under the sun viser) with free car kit, i was gonna pay quite a bit for a car kit anyway, and seing as itll play mp3s too its a sweet deal, anti shock and everything
