Pioneer CD/MP3 player

I'm thinking of buying this model.

Is anyone who owns this, or a similar model, able to tell me if it reads CDRWs? My plan is to burn a few MP3/WMA albums onto a CDRW at a time for listening to, and I can change these every so often by re-writing.
It's a lot less hassle than hooking up my MP3 player via Aux inputs like I was thinking of doing.

Also... Someone here had a Cinquecento and has replaced the front speakers IIRC? Care to own up? I've forgotten who it was

I would like to know if any old 10CM speakers (specifically these ) will fit, or am I going to have to measure up the inside space?

If you got a halfrauds near you they stock it (Though dearer) go play with it there I found it to feel a bit cheap and plastic the flip down front seemed flimsy. Sounded ok though.

but i'll warn you now mate, Pioneer mp3 players take AGES to skip tracks like 3-5 seconds :|

you can get an Alpine one for 165:

but it will load tracks quicker, and sound like an Alpine Head unit rather than Pioneer, and that for 165 is about 30 quid cheaper than elsewhere, its a bit over budget, but for a man wh like his music, you cant really moan at that right?

from experience though mate, you'll find with an mp3 cd, with say 200 tracks on, when you want to listen to number "er, hang on i think its 76, no, ok er 91, er no, oh here it is 137" you get really REALLY fed up of searching threw the tracks, so if you can spare the CD's a normal cd player can be a lot better

Pioneer head units are very good sounding. I've heard a couple and my mate has one (who's a bit of an audiophile).

But yeah, I'll consider that alpine. Doesn't look too conspicuous either

put it this way mate, me and my sisters bf both have corsa's, i have an Alpine cd player, he has a Pionner MP3 Player, when we go somewhere, its in my car

+ with that Alpine you get the Alpine bass engine thingy majig (technical term) which is absoloutly superb.

but pioneer you do get more features for your money, and they deffinatly are not a bad brand at all.

I don't want any stupid features which colourise the sound. I just want something that sounds good and plays MP3/WMA albums, so I don't hvae to waste CDRs. I usually listen to about 2 albums from my collection at any time, and it's usually the whole way through, not skipping tracks.

Too bad something with a wifi adaptor and huge HDD that would syncronise with network whenever parked in my drive would cost thousands... LOL

And don't worry I plan to change the standard speakers. Infinity 10CM and 6x9 speakers for the front and back respectively

Got one of those after the radio from the Focus was stolen (not from that link, though). It's pretty good for a budget mp3 cd player. One of the more user-friendly/better sounding ones I tested in that price range, anyway.

When burning your cd, if you put each album in it's own folder on the cd, you can use the Album +- buttons on the unit to skip between albums. You probably already knew that, though.. I just haven't slept yet.

I've had my old Alpine face-off for over 10 years now, despite dropping it more times than i can remember it still works and sounds great, Nakamichi gear is nice as well.

Also kenwoods have a years free theft insurance. They have some strict conditions on it but its better than nothing.
