Hello!
Right, got signed up to uploadit.org as i do not have any webspace unfortunately at the mo so here are 20 of the better images i took from the day at Donnington [out of about 150!!]
First of all i'll give you a run-down of what happened.
I won [as i've put in another thread] Team Dynamics VIP passes, this was supposed to entitle me and Nick to the hospitality at Craner Corner with a look around the Team Dynamics garage at some point during the day, food included.
Anyway, we got there and parked in the infield parking, went to the hospitality suite which was almost like a 1 room flat with balcony. We were served by a friendly waiter and were among about 10/15 other competition winners. The view i gotta say, was a little average. It was high up which was good, but we were a good 100 feet from the track and it really was not the most exciting part of the circuit by far.
At lunch time when the paddock opened we had not heard or seen anything from any of the Team Dynamics PR people or anyone so someone from the group of us gave the contact number we had a call....the guy who answered almost acted like he wasn't sure who we were but eventually said he'd try and sort something....
....time passed....
Still nothing.
So me and Nick didn't miss the Paddock Opening we decided to leave Craner and after walking around the paddock i thought i'd give the guy a call [it was getting on for 1.30] i foned him and it was someone else that answered this time on behalf of him! Again, he promised us a call later and that someone from Team Dynamics would call at the end of lunch.
So me and Nick went back to Craner Corner.
End of lunch came so me and Nick thought this time that was it for good, we grabbed a few more freebie hats and then walked off. We gave the PR guy one last ring and this time he answered...to which we got a reply of give us a call in 2 hours and we'll sort sommit out.
2 hours would bring us up to 3.30/4ish and me and Nick decided wouldn't couldn't be bothered with anymore of the hasstle and so just met up with 4 mates and spent the rest of the afternoon touring the circuit and watching the action.
It was a wicked day out all in all...just a bit of a shame it really wasn't 'VIP' as expected!!
Please do not get me wrong, i was very very grateful for them sending us through the stuff and i did have one of the best days out ever...its just the information we received from the BBC marketing guy and also the Team Dynamics info pack i received i think hyped it up a little to much lol!
Highlights of the day have to be:
- The free food supplied saved us about £10 each!!
- Getting some pretty famous racing drivers to sign bits and bobs - i got my VIP pass signed by Matt Neal, a photo with Plato and Menu along with signatures + Tim Harvey and also Jonny Ceccetto signed my VIP booklet to
- Seeing the final race of the BTCC...and it went right down to the last corner!
- Seeing a nice little collision at Redgate
