the subtle differences make it more attractive to me. and im hoping that being a subaru, there are a few more well known tuners that will be offering packages for them. do you think prodrive will tweak a toyota? I doubt it.
There is a Toyota dealer around the corner from work, so I see them all the time. They really do look like they are worth trying, but yeah out of my budget for now too.
Prodrive are a business, they will take Toyota's money if it was offered. They took on Volvo for touring cars, so they certainly aren't badge snobs.

OK, it's 6-pot. But hummuna hummuna.
I was going to suggest a Lotus Carlton, but they're £35k+. Must be a real collector's item...
How about an S-Type R? Stupid money to maintain, but massive fun, and looks like a sedate saloon...
And, pretty much in your price range...

Didn't think that you can search for "5l+ engine cars under 10K" on autotrader until I saw that
Bently. Should get classic insurance on that, doesn't look as cramped as the Clio

Just saw a Monaro burbling down the road. Lovely noise, quite fancy that myself.

Well as much as it pains me to say it it's changed quite a bit.....
It's now an mx5 or similar (been told I'll have time for a V8 when I'm past 30... if they still exist if Chris Huhne has his way). Running costs on the V8 at the minute are a concern and we're trying to scrimp as much as possible at the minute for a deposit
I personally love the mk1/mk2 mx5's but has anyone owned one and know what to look for?
I've looked at modded insurance and turbocharged is do-able (down the line, would rather fit a kit myself and know what is in it or buy one from an enthusiast that I can remove then re-attahc later when the premium is better) and still less than a scooby
finlay.. ignore modding them mate.
buy the nicest, cleanest, best serviced car you can.. and once bored with it, sell it in perfect condition, with no mods and get a faster car.
Right.. MX5... top idea.
Also consider MR-2 toyota (last ones)
and DEFINATELY consider the Celica Blue or Celica Red.VVTi. Get a silver one with red leather or a silver or blue with blue leather. Red with Red is horrible.
140ps, 1.8, red or blue leather... cheap on fuel when driven calmly, not bad performance and lovely to look at, to drive and to clean.
and bullet proof
