but looking from it at a different perspective, i.e. driving seat!

too many cyclists just pull out, try to get them selves killed so they can get their 'no win no claim' thing!

some just dont have simple road knowledge, or have basic understanding of how the road higherarchy works, cars = fast = death if you get on the wrong side!

just some people should learn, save a hell of a lot of probs! but i guess they always think, ooohhhh i can fit through that gap, or i can push in, jump the queue and cross the road before this car kills me!

i am partially guilty for some of these crimes, but i hate it how bikes push past cars while queueing at lights etc, only 10 m later to be overtaken by us! ? why?!?!?

the worst thing is when they cant decide to ride or walk theit bike, they stop at red trafiic lights, jump off their bike, quickly dash across the road on the footpath (if u kno wot i mean) and jump back on merrily going on about their halfbiking / half pedestrian duties!!!!

that is not what bikes are for!!!!!

    .....

also as a cyclists i hate how sometimes u get old foagies telling u to get off ur bike or you shudnt be cycling too fast etc... oh i could go on, but i need sleep!

I cycle a lot in urban areas although hardly ever on the pavement. If I ever do so it is because it is just too damn dangerous to stick to the road in that situation because of roadworks/diversions etc.

The thing is a cyclist is unlikely to kill someone (especially on a pavement) whereas cars can and are quite likely to do so in some of the traffic conditions I've experienced in Cork at times . If anyone should be "killed" it should be the car drivers who are often a menace to both cyclists and pedestrians. I have had a number of close calls while cycling over the years and most of them could well have been much more serious than a scraped knee.

I am not trying to defend the cyclists you encountered TeePee but i think car drivers are much more of a threat to public health than a few cyclists!

agreed i enjoy cycling, its just that so many oldies hate us cycling on the pavement even if it is for our own safety!

i think what is worse than bicycles is

    SCOOTERS

the bloody noise they make, the disregard for other road users, and i have yet to see one without an L plate lol! i hate aswell how every 16 yo wants a new one, only 2 find out a year down the line when they learn to drive, they cant sell their scooter / moped they bought for ~ £1500 for more than £500 i just laugh at them!

a little off topic, but does any1 kno those little scooter things or electric bikes that people have, they do about 10mph and are crap, and most are battery powered, and those small scooter type ones that cant go up a hill and look butt ugly! y wud people want one?

and also what is up with oap and their small electric mobile pushchairs? they go on the road, no one can overtake, in fear of giving the old lady / man a heart attack, or just cuz they cant, they have no tax, reg number, and if they are on the footpath they just go straight scraping ur heals, i really will break someones neck regarding this things if they dont get banned or similar! they really peeve me off! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

im sorry if anyone is offended, but i can rant and rave for ages on this topic! lol!
