Why go for a genuine Caterham? If you like the genuine look, a Westfield for about £13K would be a better bet. Other Lotus-7-Alikes like the Dax Rush (My Fav.) or a Robin Hood might suit an even smaller buget. TBH A Hyabusa-engined Dax would be faster than a 260bhp Caterham, and could be yours for 1/3rd the price.

    Indy or GT-R?

The Indy's are a pretty decent 7 varient, but I don't like the look of the GT-R much for some reason. The Westfield XTR2 looks like a better bet.

Myself, I'm still saving to start building my Ultima.

the westfield is mny choice, my dad had a 1300 megabusa in one of the westfield chasis, with teh sequential box and all, it was sh*t scary to sit in,

the cheapsest option of all the cars is definitly the lo-cost, its an aluminum body, doesnt look that good, but takes some abuse, ive seen these go round the track and there basically just thrashed about but come out ok,

the westfild id defitnitly say is the nicest option though, we have a 2litre zetec in a cremey yellow chasis, with no windscreen, jsut recing humps, nice to drive,

What you want to do to that 2 litre zetec is spend £800 odd on a bolt on tubo kit from over in yankland, theyve pushed zetec tuning niceley firther than we have and have products available to prove it

nah, my dad is pissed with it, cos he hadda shell out £400 for a custom made ECU, cos it was running to rich on petrol, and shooting after a thrashing, and had to get a new set of webber 45''s as the old ones broke earlier in the year, as well as a new set of tyres, £800 would be too much for him,

but when he hands over the drivng shoes to me..............
    then well see
