What's your favourite car colour?

I am FED UP with white...

I've seen it all before.. white being "cool" and a few years later.. bubble burst

but this time.... no burst!

Red is selling well in solid at the moment.. 4 years ago.. no hope.

So the question is, what's your favourite colour combo?

I love a silver car with black leather for ease of use/cleaning... but a metallic black car with either a parchment leather interior or a really deep red leather is a close second.

Occassional cars suit a deep metallic green with a deep sandstone leather, but not often.

Gunmetal grey, I may be slightly biased...!

Easy to clean and can be left for months if you wish and hides plenty of dirt.

Plus when actually clean and the sun catches it, very nice and not as boring as the waves of silver usually in the car park.

White on a sports car looks the biz but too many crap cars jumped on the trend and killed it for me

+ 1 for Gunmetal grey, but I am also looking at silver, as for me its now cool again.

I too hate white, on most things black or red. Although Volvo rebel blue is gorgeous, pictures don't do it justice.

Flat black with dark red leather always turns my head. But that said Saracen's (as usual hah) got it spot on. Certain cars suit certain colours. I've always thought Ferarri's should be yellow for example... Lambo's look evil in black etc.

Yup, my thoughts too.

When I was buying my R32 I thought it looked great in grey so that's the colour I went for. My other half thought the Fiesta ST II looked best in orange so that's what she went for.

Generally though I don't like white cars, there's very few cars that to my eyes look good in white.

White with dark wheels and properly black windows looks the business, if your business is drugs. I personally quite like it, but the car does have to be decent to pull it off.

I'd +1 on the Gunmetal grey, black tends to hide the contours and silver is everywhere.

My favourite colour of all time is BMW Daytona Violet Metallic. Bit biased, but looks amazing.

If that's the colour I think, then all I can say is .... each to his own, and you're welcome to it.

I remember buying a new Beemer, oh, mid 90s, and we considered two colours, a Daytona Violet and a blue. When the cars arrived, two were parked side by side for owner collection. Boy, were the wife and I ever glad we went for Avus blue, not Daytona. We both felt we dodged a bullet, as the Daytona didn't look at all like the brochure colour when in the 'flesh', as it were. A rather expensive bullet, at that.

Yeah it depends on the car.

Agree yellow is a good Ferrari colour. They don't have to be red.

I quite like my Alfa's in dark blue (specially with cream leather), but I find if you leave it in a car park idiots don't see the dark colour and drive into you.

Pearlescent paint had better be on a TVR, not on a Fiesta. In general the sillier the car the sillier the colour should be. Only something as daft as a Strato's can be dayglo green

Silver says to me that you couldn't be bothered to make a choice. It doesn't get any worse than many company car parks where the directors all have silver BMWs showing their total inability to make informed choice so getting a silver Merc is considered the dangerous option.

I had an Alfa 33 in a light metallic green once, that was really nice.

Worst one I have owned was an old Mini in Harvest Gold. Looked like the result of a stomach upset, but as a teenager you take what you can get
