A couple of weeks ago I got t-boned at a junction which left the following damage...



Then it turned into this...



So I figured... I was going to get a few panels resprayed, lets just do the whole thing.

Last weekend I took the N/S sill trim off to find the sill was rotten. Wonderful. So it's now a complete respray, with some rust treatment, and new sills. The fun part is driving it while stipped out - noisey, hot, and very very quick!

Anyway, these are kinda the 'before' shots, to be joined by the 'after' shots once it's all done, in a weeks time...

I'd love to leave it all out but I think my parents would like their conservatory back! Plus it's not really practical, even for me. I've had some good looks from passers by and people sat in traffic, particularly people reading the door

Zak, the boot spoiler is from the VTEC model. The 16v's had a crappy black spoiler.

It's going to be 'Milano Red' which is the same as it is now. They were originally made in 'Rio Red'. The Milano shade is used a lot on the Type R Civics.

Is it the 1.6 you have? That last photo really has me considering one. Is that bonnet standard on all the versions?

Would you recommend one as a first car? (Maybe not the 1.6 VTEC version )

The bonnet is standard for all Euro/UK spec 1.6-16v's. It's actually functional because the cam cover would catch the bonnet otherwise! The VTEC's and JDM Si's and US Si's share a different bonnet, where the middle section is raised (as opposed to mine where it is sunken).

I wouldn't recommend one as a first car, and you'll get the same response from any other owners on the CRX forum. These are very quick cars and they will bite if you don't give them enough respect. Learn how to drive in something a bit more forgiving for a couple of years first

I was originally thinking of an EG hatch, but looks like i'll have to step down to a Pug 205 due to insurance

The thick end of £1700, which means I've spent around £4k on this car so far

Still needs:

Tein fully adjustable coilovers, rear strut braces, DC Sports 4-2-1 manifold and ideally an engine rebuild, though it's running fine at the mo, changing the oil every 3k miles. It's gonna be an awesome track car
