Look for a set of forged or flow formed wheels, they will be lighter than cast wheels (though more expensive). I could name you a few brands, but I only know the Japanese stuff really.
http://www.720form.com/ are well priced for lightweight wheels. Out of interest what size / offset / PCD are you looking for?

I don't know actually. Looking at some sites I think the current wheels are:
225/40R18 92V 7.5Jx18 ET49 5x112
and I want to go down to:
225/45R17 92V 7.5Jx17 ET51 5x112
(values from wheelsize.com - 17" is presumably the OEM 17")
I just tried wheel size.com and it says the following:
http://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whee...=30mm&scl=50mm
I would need to check the brakes fit under smaller rims of course - can't see there'd be a problem.
Same site reckons I'd save 0.9kg per wheel anyway just from the size change, but I'd like to find something lighter than OEM for extra gain.
Those numbers look reasonable, you have some flexibility on offset as you'll have some amount of suspension clearance to go for a higher offset, or alternatively, allow them to poke a little with a lower offset. Anything between around 50 and 30 should fit fine.
Brakes should fit fine on 17s on any A3 (even the S3 brakes fit under a 17" wheel, just). You could probably go down to 16s if you wanted. I have a spare set of VAG 16s as it happens...
Weight saving really depends on how light your OEM wheels are! You can usually save weight over OEM even at the same size, so you should save a fair bit dropping to 17.
Best guess for Audi 18s is around 12 kg per wheel, Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s are cheap lightweight wheels and come in at 8.2 kg for a 17x7.5, saving 4 kg per wheel, also 17" tyres are a bit lighter, so you could be saving 5 kg per wheel there easily.
Current on sale here, 500 quid ish per set: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...heels-set-of-4
Incidentally, Demon Tweeks have a ridiculously large range of wheels, so much so that it breaks their website a bit if you go for the full list.
Things start to get expensive if you want much lighter. I'm looking at some 17x8 wheels that are 6.75 kg each, but they're also about £400 per wheel, and only in Japanese fitments.
So I got around to giving it a quick clean this morning: -
Yesterday afternoon I hit a pothole and did this: -
Went back to the scene of the crime this morning to get a photo and it was already repaired!
So spent most of the morning phoning around trying to find someone with the right tyre and was lucky enough to find someone in Abingdon with one that matched the other side. And because the previous owner (or maybe the place I got it from...) was a cheapskate, it only cost me £80! Most tryes that size are twice that price. I don't like going cheap on tyres, but I am planning on changing the alloys soon anyway, so it should last until then I hope. In the mean time, I am looking at a Jag spacesaver spare wheel since the RCZ doesn't have one, and one of those will both fit in the boot and fit the wheels with a slight adjustment.
I did manage to find some footage from an RCZ meet last year that this car attended, and the previous owner was a member of the Owners Group, so I am slightly more confident that it was looked after.
Very nice. You were lucky not to buckle the rim, that looks nasty. Can recommend tyreleader.co.uk for cheapest prices on top branded stuff, prices change daily so worth keeping a track over a week or two. How are you enjoying driving it so far? Paired your phone with the Bluetooth yet?
Yes, I was surprised how well the alloy held up. I will be keeping an eye on the tyre pressure just in case it doesn't seal properly anymore, but to be honest, it looks OK.
Today was the first time I paired my phone as I was expecting a call back from a tyre place whilst hunting around. Normally, I don't bother as no-one calls me.
You can also stream your music, enable it on phone, it will link to car, then hit source on the radio about 5 times and it will come up, hit play on the phone and it should come out of the speakers, Playlist is then controllable via the stalk
