Personally I like Brass. Easily machined and you can shine it up really nicely. Bronze is probably my favourite for casting, and, of course, 6061 Aluminium is great to work with. I've tried making a few things with 2024 Alclad and it's way too soft.

These days people expect something more fitting to a monster truck, making the handling and ride quality far worse, but sadly huge wheels is now what we are used to. Huge wheels do *look* much better, no doubt about that, they just aren't as good at being wheels.
So I say that's a fine choice.
I guess we are used to 5 wheels bolts as well these days.
