Yes F1's all the way. Unfortunatly i just put a pair of Dunlop Sport 2020E on the back of mine coz i noticed last night when i was fitting my xaust that my back tyres were completeley worn out!
Had no choice but to get these cheap 79/ea dunlops today, they wanted £90ea for Eagle NCT5 and god only knows how much for Eagle F1.
Nevermind, just another excuse to buy new wheels in a few months and a full set of new Eagle F1's.
Butuz
Man i cant afford F1's, I cant afford anything right now.
Ill go with Yokohama 205/40R17 84V A539 I think, anything is better than my current tyres and I've never had issues with them up till now.
Remember the Yokos will last approximately 5mins with their soft compound. So are they really a saving?

Think i'm shooting for some p6000s next time
Please, whatever tyre you buy, avoid P6000's. They suffer unpredicatable breakaway under load, breakaway (when it does occur) is far more sudden than it should be and they squeal more than any other tyre I've ever used.Originally Posted by Konan555

On the plus side they're not badly priced and last well. However I'd suggest a budget tyre instead if necessary, at least you KNOW it's not going to grip and can modify your driving to suit.
Pirelli are a great brand but the P6000's are a bad effort.

Already on the crappest tyres in the world on the other car, but the 4be box is doing a grand job at the mo.
Looking for the £50-60 a corner for 205/50/15 at the moment. Can't buy something like yokohama cause these need to last (also, i don't like yokohama in the wet)

I've had A539s on the front of my Mk1 MR2 for the last 12,000 miles and they look barely worn. Admittedly it's a RWD car with a rearward weight bias and I don't tend to push them very often, but they ought to last 10,000 miles of thrashing or 15,000-20,000 miles of more moderate driving with no problems at all.

The marangoni's have done 25K now and the tread's pretty much like the day they where new.Originally Posted by Rave

My dad gets 70K out of michelin's!
TBH I drive my car so little nowadays I can barely justify keeping it. Probably done less than 2000 miles in the last year. Anyway A539s in 185/60/14H are much less than Raz will have to fork out, so 20,000 miles out of them is more than enough considering the corner speed I can generate when I want to.

Yes, cornering my 4be hard on good tyres is asking for death. Much safer on cheap ones.
Avon ZV3 anyone?
What's a 4be?
4be, 4x4, 4WD
Yokos generally last me 10-15000 miles and thats on a very powerful fwd car driven hard most of the time, although i do have a spare pair of wheels and tyres just for trackdays. If you don't do alot of milage you shouldn't particularly want your tires to last forever as they do degrade with time.
