Minardi will not race in Melbourne

    http://f1.racing-live.com/en/headlin...02143913.shtml

I dont blame Ferrari - if a car doesnt meet spec it shouldnt be allowed to race.

I blame the FIA. They dont seem to realise that the '2 race engines' rule which is supposed to save teams money, costs teams more through the R&D work the suppliers have to do.

The quicker the GPWC starts up the better.

I've been keeping close tabs on this and the general situation in F1. IT certainly looks like there is trouble brewing ahead and i think something will happen this season to see a show down 1 way or another.

Critise ferrari and people just think you are jealous of their success, but This is MINARDI, we are talking about, i mean they had issues with racing because of engine costs last year. Give them a break let them race so they can get money from the sponsorship, they are no way going to win the race with the last year spec car even with the better situation they would have.

They will have a new car very shortly that complies with the regulations. The issue is not whether the car meets the regulations, its whether Ferrari will allow it to go to the FIA or not. They aren't even giving Minardi a chance, and quite FRANKLY no one single team should be allowed to do that.

the Minardi car they want to race with has already passed 2005 FIA Scrutineering checks , and 9 out of the 10 teams agreed to let them race.
It is only Ferrari saying no which is stopping them - for the minute.

They have rules that if all teams agree to Minardi racing in OZ then it is fine. So there are legal ways to allow Minardi to race. Ferrari are just bitter that Stoddard is a supporter of GPWC and are just trying to be awkward out of spite. Only reason I would like to have Ferrari in F1 or GPWC is to watch another team wipe the floor with them. I still like their road cars, but i now have no warm feelings to their race team whatsoever. I am quite positive to any of the other teams, I have my favourites but I am pleased when others do well too. Not in the case of Ferrari though.

Its not just the constant winning. Its that inspite of winning all the time they go to great lengths to avoid any compromise that may in any way be inconvenient for them.

Sorry, but I DESPISE the state that F1 has been allowed to fall into. Yes, I do criticise Ferrari, but then I think any team that is allowed to pay for two board members on the FIA is definitely going for as uneven a playing field as possible. In this case, it's not a question of whether the car is safe or fit; that would be decided by the FIA, and it's Ferrari alone who are preventing consideration of the matter by the FIA. I think that in light of the fact that the new rules are only supposed to slow cars down, it's hardly an issue for Minardi, is it? I mean, they're not in the habit of setting lap records, FFS. Ferrari should step aside and let the FIA determine whether the car is fit.

Rules are rules, just cos Ferrari stand by them and the other teams dont doesnt make it Ferrari's fault...

Right, like the rules against traction control and assisted starts which Ferrari were SO compliant with prior to getting the rules changed...

I can't wait until Ferrari and Bernie Ecclestone get hung out to dry by the GPWC. I'll laugh for at least a week.

That day can't come soon enough. I think the Minardi case will probably be a minor blip compared to some of the other arguments we'll be seeing this year.

    another twist - http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpa...s_art_id=23689

in summary, Minardi have withdrawn their legal complaint, and are now going to work through the night to get the cars in Melbourne ready with parts they have presumably had shipped from Italy, which comply with the 2005 regulations.

    Good luck to 'em.
