D210 you can get done for that parking 2 wheels on the kerb Has to be a right **** to charge you for it though.
I never claimed you did kick up a fuss...as Nick has put it:Originally Posted by CocoPops
I wasn't. And I agree with you, they should spend longer out there on the street preventing the real criminals comitting real crimes...I break the rules of the road sometimes, everyone does. I sympathise you were caught but I think every Policeman should be entitled to hand out a verbal thrashing if he feels necessary.Originally Posted by Lead_Head
I have a friend who is a Police response driver, so some of my grudges against drivers when they get pulled over comes from this. He has to put up with an unbelievable amount of crap from the people on the roads, I am not suprised they get hacked off at people to be honest. He would so much prefer to be out there sorting crimes but the paperwork they have to go through is just insane.
Yeah, I guess it's just the fact, that I was polite and courteous to him, yet he still kicked off.
If I had been obnoxious or rude, then yes, fair enough to recieve the same back, but not to be with that copper I guess.
It's a shame becuase it reflects badly on the whole service.
I was once stopped for doing 106mph on the M4 by an unmarked car.... he had me bang to rights, yet he was polite courteous and gave me a stern but fair talking to and then let me go on my way.
Now that copper had more of a positive effect on me, because I thought "wow, I was lucky I shan't do that again". A total contrast to monday's officer and a far better public manner.
Sorry for the "F'Off" was perhaps a little over the top Tom This whole saga is something that has really riled me, like I said before, even more so than the £30 fine!
No worries Coco, you've bit the nail on the head I think by the remarks on the attitude. I suppose some people benefit by being talked to as a level headed human (99% of us!) but some people won't listen without some serious bashing...although saying that these are the people that never listen anywayOriginally Posted by CocoPops
Thats one of the things I try to do every day, as a support person, is adapt the way I speak to people depending on their level of knowledge.Originally Posted by TomWilko
Doctor's adapt their bedside manor, so why can't coppers read the situation and adjust their tone/attitude etc.
Once again, apologies Tom
i just got pulled (again), basically driving back thru nottingham at 2am, not speeding (i was actually sticking to the limit which makes a change for me) and a woman politly came out and told me "you were going too fast" (i wasn't) "just be careful because theres lots of cops around this time of night" (basically they hadn't caught me speeding but thought i nicked the car who'd wanna nick a pug309 neway
