Oooops! what a start to the week.

Got me a £30 fixed penalty this morning

Went to go round the outside of some traffic to join the right turn filter lane a little early, just happened there was a Vectra Estate Cop car sat there as I went past

Fair play, I hold my hands up to it and deserve, but the copper was a right little obnoxious ****, ranting on about road rage etc.

Just kept my mouth shut, took it like a man and accepted the £30 fine.

Still, no points on the license and that's all that matters tbh.

Why do coppers always have crap cars, apart from the motorway cops and coppers from Durham..... they have Mercs and BMW's ohh and Volvos... but Newcastle has rusty old Ford Focus's and Fiesta's. hehe

Sorry to hear about ya incident this morning Cocopops!

come down my way, they pull you for being in your car after midnight, they are either having a laugh pulling everyone who drives to make quota's or they think everyone is on the take :/

Coco atleast you kept cool about it, when I get a snotty copper asking to search my car as I am on my way back from a cruise or being parked down the sea front with the other drivers, I tend to get lippy and start asking reasons why they are doing it. Everytime without fail their reason is "because we said so" to which I just reply with "OK we will go to the station and we will get your sargent to have a look at the car then" they don't go any further after this as they are getting complaints up to their eye balls about random checks that seem to randomly happen 3 times a day.

If they had a good reason to search my car like we believe you have goods in the car that aren't yours they can go right ahead, but when they say "because we said so" thats not on. I should ask them if I can search their car, then make a citizen arrest for them having their mobiles in the cars. Numerous occasions I have seen a copper drive down the high street with a mobile in their hand. Thats a £30 fine right there.

...And let even more gun crime, murder's, muggings, rape's, burglary's and theft go un-investigated, nah.

In the end Coco did something wrong and the Policeman has decided to deal with it in a very stern way that some people my interpret as rude. To be honest with you I think the Police should have far more powers to get really anti if people do something wrong, we live in a world where society expects everyone to be nice and you are in trouble for upsetting the feelings a human being. The simple thing not to have a Policeman shout at you is not do anything wrong in the first place.

    Tom, how about "**** off"...?

Like I said, I admitted I was wrong right from the start. I made no arguements, I made no confrontations, yet the PC was an arrogant, obnoxious and downright rude little man!

I have sent off my cheque, accompanied by a letter detailing my thoughts. I don't expect to get a response, but it would be nice if I did.

As for the gun crime, murders... yada yada... going uninvestigating.... then they should stop chasing people that speed at 72mph for example

    To Whom It May Concern:

RE: Fixed Penalty Notice (Non-endorsable offence) 35919***

I enclose payment for the above referenced fixed penalty notice as issued by PC **** on Monday 18th April.

I would also like to make a complaint regarding the officer’s attitude. Whilst I admit that I made the wrong choice when committing the heinous crime of “D210 - driving elsewhere other than a road” i.e. putting two wheels onto a verge to pass a stationary queue of traffic to join a filter lane, the manor in which the “crime” was dealt with was heavy handed and over the top.

As soon as the blue lights were illuminated on the patrol car, I manoeuvred the car out of the way and parked awaiting the officer’s approach. Upon approach I was asked to exit my vehicle and sit in the back of the patrol car.

I was then subjected to an aggressive lecture on how the “crime” could have caused road rage, and whether I would consider driving on the hard shoulder if I got bored of waiting on a motorway.

I also note that the patrol car was a CCTV car, yet I had the impression that the interior camera was not functioning, as I’m sure the officer would not have used such an aggressive manor if he were recorded in doing so.

I believe that the “crime” D210, has the option of a verbal warning or a fixed penalty as issued, yet I felt the officer chose the firmer option without consideration.

Having held a clean license for almost 9 years, even in the age of speed cameras every few miles, I felt like I was made out to be a criminal that had committed a crime of a far more serious nature.

I look forward to your response on the matter and would encourage the officer concerned to review his public facing skills and adjust the manner in which he addresses them.

    Kind Regards,

    Lee Cripps.

most likely your letter will be read by an admin staff member and no action taken.
You should take a look at

    http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/index/making_complaint.htm

it details the methods you should use if wishing to take the matter further.

    Good letter Coco.

Like I said, I'd have told him to give me the fine and f**k off pesonally. I have no time
for agressive and arrogant Policemen, after the experiences I've had with off-duty coppersthey take hypocrisy and corruption to new heights.

To be fair I don't think he was directly referring to you.
