New Toy for the Wife

My Wifes wanted one of these since she was a little girl and her neighbor had a convertible.
Well a car dealer/fellow racer friend of mine called Monday morning with a good deal and with the price he was willing to give me on my '95 Z28 I made my Wifes wish come true much sooner than we thought. My Daughters were blown away too. My 6 year old, both girls love Beetles and have been doing the "Slug Bug" thing, was speechles when I came to pick her Monday after school

None of them had any idea we would own one Monday, neither did I actually. I've been holding on to the Z" waiting for the right deal on either a Beetle or Austin Healey (yeah I know, big diff from one to the other but I wanted something fun) and this was a good deal and a color my Wife liked.

It's a GLX with 1.8 Turbo and all the extras, sunroof, 6 disc changer, heated seats....

Needless to say I think I made my Wifes week

Good colour, a 1.8 Turbo will be indecently fast.....so if you aint got mirrors on your circle jerkin' car, get them, cos she'll be all over you like a bad rash now

Lovely cars.. I was quite suprised by the price of the convertables. 1.6 beetle cabrio £15400 brand new! (or was it £16400 cant remember exactly) rather cheap i though!

I love the New Beetle RSI with the huge spoilers and big wheels.

My dad is looking to get rid of his cavalier next year, and since we all have cars now, and the family has grown up, ive told him to get a toy car. So we've been looking at the new MX5 but i think the new Beetle's might beat it to the post.

Don't like this. To me it looks like an afterthought. Or some cheap bodykit you see on the back pages on Max Power when you are getting your hair cut.

To be honest, there is very little they could DO with the new beetle to make it look sporty. It round, cute, (dare I say) girly. And no amount of throwing spoilers at it is gonna make it look butch. I am a big fan of the original beetles though.

tell ya one thing....

the American's know how to build garage's properly!!! look at the space around the car in the picture. imagine that car in a garage in the UK. ya'd have to squeeze out of the car trying not to smash the door against the wall. then make sure the car is in enough to shut the garage door.

yeah - that garage is nearly as big as my house

I put my car in the garage and I practically have to climb out of the sunroof to get out!

Hang on - I haven't got a sunroof!
