    Wheres the Crank Handle?

OK drove to work, parked no where that I haven't parked before. Finished work, pressed the button to disarm my alarm, car bleeped doors unlocked, jumped in dumped my stuff on the passenger seat, put key in, turn ....

nothing. Not even a little cough.

Lights come on but no-ones home. Headlights work, might be battery dunno, might be the immobiliser, have locked/unlocked a couple of times no effect. Connections look sound to me.

So here I wait for the RAC ... 35mins left till their estimated time.

sounds like the immobiliser. is there a 'tic' noise when you turn to starter go mode or not?

More likely to be the starter solenoid or the contacts in the starter motor. They can give up the ghost just-like-that. If you've got a hammer or something you can hit it with, give the starter motor a tap and try it again.

OK it is the immobiliser, the RAC guy by passed the starter and it tried to start. Question is is it the Ford or the Clifford. My Ford Mech thinks its the Ford one as the internal LED by the clock is flashing quickly. So left it in his capable hands.

When you put the key to 2nd stage (ie when lights come on) there is a tick, after that to turn engine on, nothing. Oh well, it was due for a service, one way to get it done!

Apparently the microchip from the Ford key is missing. My guess is when they installed the clifford they took it out and stashed it behind the dash and its come loose or something. Oh well, at least I know what it is! Just a pain.
