Sorry but the TT is an ex estate agent car, just cant get over that fact and the fact is I really don't like how in your face and vertical the dash is...

The Z3, yes, thats tempting, would help if my dad didnt have a Z4, I would feel like the poor relation LOL

hey I didnt say anything about the 200SX, I love them, especially the one with the really aggressive front end, but I would not have a clue where to start, I know the golf club thing sounds like im old and boring, but im not, I would consider a 200SX if the insurance was good and I could get a really good tidy one, Im not discounting them, by any stretch...

t'only reason i suggested a volvo 'r' is cos the insurance is cheap for the power.. it'd outrun a stock (which for insurance purposes, i guess the car would remain stock) 200sx on the straights pretty easy, and probably not be tooo far behind on the wiggly stuff.. they had all sorts of uprated suspension/brake gubbins for the sake of touring car homologation (sp). unfortunately they never did an 'R' version of the c70 - only the t5 (which is similar power, but without the handling upgrades)

There are no S2000s on Autotrader for less than £10,000 ATM, with the exception of one crash damaged one. Personally with 10 grand to play with I'd spend 5-7K on an older piece of exotica (like the aforementioned TVR, or an E36 M3, or a Supra, or a 2 door Scooby WRX, or a Jag XJR....the world really is your oyster). Then I'd spend the grand it'll cost to insure it, and put the rest in a savings account so that if it goes bang I'd be able to repair it.

on a similar note to that, what about a big old merc coupe? somethign like this

    http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW...00522194808445

preferably a earlyish one - before merc got crap in the 90s.. i bet it'd hardly depreciate at all, and its a whole world of class above a hot hatch or 3 year old coupe..

Dunno how big the boot is on the Mk2, but two sets of clubs would be a tight fit in the back of my Mk1 I reckon.

TVRs OTOH tend to have massive boots.

hahah yeah thats what I was thinking.....I know about tight fit boots, the Z4 my dad has requires golf club origami to get two sets in.

At the moment the forerunners are S2000, Honda Civic Type R, Hyundai coupe 2.0i or a Clio 182.....
