    selling car in paper or online ?

    any recommend the best and cheapest paper or online to advertise my car for sale (n.w.london region) ?

    also clever pitfalls and things to watch out for

    e.g nigerian email saying there buy my car for double the asking price if llend them £1000 for the flight

    auto trader is very popular and is normally a safe bet

    depends one hte sort of car..

    cheap banger goes in yer local ads. something pricey, your best bet is autotrader. inbetween, ebay is often the best way..

    if it's a cheap sell, then best in your local paper. When I sold my previous car it took me a while (think I hit a dry spot for selling, there were quite a few readvertisements by others during that time too), but the local paper was the ad that brought it to the attention of the eventual purchaser.

    Autotrader for a more "county" wide interest, ebay for national (if its a car of particular interest, or you think most of the london area uses ebay), or the paper - you dont need a completye run down of specs in a newspaper - and if the price s good then you'll get plenty of interest.

    Might I ask what your selling?
