    Ice,

Went out on my bike this morning.
Great Idea thinks me, I'll get there quicker.

Well that was a great idea.

Didn't even manage to get to the top of my road.

My motorbike decided it wanted to be the otherway round .....

    ......and it succeeded.

I'm gunna be waaay to friendly with my Honda dealer at this rate. Managed to cause just over £200 worth of plastics damage within a minute of starting my bike

Good news for all remotely concerned is I was undamaged, - that makes it two accidents I've walked away from on my motorbike, versus the broken collarbone from my pushbike - so a great history really

I'll get some pics up soon for those who are curious... I'm just kicking myself

Any of you guys ridden motorbikes in the ice, and how did you fare? I'm just wondering in an attempt to feel less stupid Did shake me up a little bit tho, & managed to make enough noise in the process for my neigbour to come running out in her dressing gown

    Dave

Hit my first patch of ice this year in the car last night as it happens. 20ft visability in the fog driving on iced up backroads, took something like an hour for a drive that's normally under 10 minutes.

But ice on two wheels? It's hard enough on a pushbike

I used to commute into central london on my bike in the middle of winter, the only advice is, go slow, especially when cornering and on roundabouts, less main rads tend to have the worst ice, especially at 5am when they haevn't been gritted. Wear good boots and dragging your feet around te corners can give you some extra support (like I said, VERY slow!).

lol, i have to do that on diesel atm, one of the roundabouts near me you can smell it rather than being able to see it; Really hazardous to bikers.
