Well, I think you guys have persuaded me!
Skoda sounds like the best all rounder to me! I like the sound of variable servicing too, and the service costs seem very similar to the Clio.
I'm going to have to start hunting. Unfortunately the colours do seem to be a bit limited!
Thanks again for your input guys!
Ant
If I was going for a Skoda vRS I'd be interested in one in the Bright Yellow I've seen them in, they looked Sharp
EDIT: Possibly the worst E-bay auction ever, but a Yellow one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-Skoda-Oct...QQcmdZViewItem or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fantastic-03-S...QQcmdZViewItem

Well I think it works, but then again I am known for liking the more obscure cars and Ideas (I liked the old Multipa design!)

Ant - go to WH Smith's and flip open the March 06 issue of Evo magazine at p105. Apart from wondering why the March issue is out in January, I noticed a small article on the vRS as part of Golf GTI v Focus ST head to head.
Me paraphrasing the article:-
"They make some postive and negative points about the vRS. Basically, a good car, rarely putting a wheel wrong, firm but good ride, unflappable, secure handling and long distance comfort, which is right because its a family car and a very good (German) one, but its not enough of an absorbing characterful or passionate fast hatch though (according to Evo)."
Personally, I'd still go for the vRS over the Clio though, particularly if you intend to keep it for a couple years.

Cheers David, I will go get it this weekend and have a read.
I actually went for another test drive last weekend, and in the end, bought a vRS. I pick it up on thursday! I can't wait!
Cheers guys, your comments were helpful!
