To give you an idea - a similar spec car to mine, but stripped for 1/4 mile:

    Martin.

    Clio 1998cc

    0.331
    2.267
    6.056
    9.226
    79.36
    11.097
    14.303 @ 96.54

Compare that to another 2.0l Clio but a much higher spec - cams, throttlebodies etc:

    0.963
    2.292
    --
    9.058
    80.73
    --
    13.806@103.19

Sadly, getting over 200bhp in a 2.0l F7R isn't easy. Has to be throttle bodies or turbo time, and the turbo kits are a bit of a bodge if it be known. :S

1/4 miles aren't what Clios are about though is it. Show a Yank car a tight track and we'll see who laps quicker...

Handling. You mean like steering well I have to admit on xplies I had a lot of work keeping my car on one motorway lane at 145;-) and as for brakes below 80 those big manual drums were vicious above that they didn't do a lot, combined with the vague steering it called for plenty of anticipation...........

It was pushed up in the corner of Nick Hill's garage when the RSC was there having a rolling road day.

Nick runs Hillpower, a tuner for n/a Renaults (www.hillpower.co.uk). He does a lot of race engine work for the Spider Cups, Clio Cups etc. As it happened, he'd had a Spider Cup racer in, and the bloke despite being a bit of a Sunday Driver (Nicks words not mine!) in the series, wanted a F4R (172/182 engine) in his Spider. Since he'd had that done, his old engine was sat around looking sorry for itself...

... since my car was needing a new engine after the rolling road run, and that was sat there... well, it'd be rude not to wouldn't it?
