£175 for 1 years road tax for a m reg 1.6, which basically puts me in the worst tax band (F), so essentially im paying the same in tax as a 3 liter would...


Then, to my suprise, I see Im paying MORE than a "Three axled tractive unit articulated vehicle, Not over 28,000kg, 3 or more axled semi trailer" would be.

I can't complain... sent my old tax disc back for a partial refund and had a cheque back for £60 in about 2 weeks

True, I pay the same for my T-Reg 1.6 as my mum does for her 4.4 V8 BMW

Although I can console myself with the thought that I can buy 4 new tyres for what she pays for one, and her car uses as much petrol starting the ignition as I use in two weeks

Is there anywhere online where you can check the price of tax? Obviously it would be an estimation (I think)..

Yup, I think of all you poor car drivers when I renewed my road tax this year.

Gotta love the whole &#163;15 I paid. For 12 months, I didn't think that was bad

(I ride a motorbike, 125 as it is my first, but still hits 70 with ease )

No it's not an estimation it's pretty clear cut. Engines smaller than 1.5l pay &#163;110, and engines bigger pay &#163;175. It changed for cars registered after 2001 and it was then done by emissions. I think the above prices are right, I didn't click any of the links. lol.

That's what my dealer charged me (in fact he charged me &#163;248 for a first vehicle registration fee), stating that &#163;210 was for the road tax and the rest was for sending some work experience kid to the Post Office to get the tax disc for me! I'm sure i've been ripped off but in the great scheme of things it wasn't a big deal. It was for a Porsche Cayman S.

saw some doggers in one of those the other day, look a lot nicer in the flesh than the photos, except the rear 3/4, but they do have a very sexy behind.

(no i wasnt dogging myself, but the dirty beggars seem to have taken over most of our start locations for night rides)
