    Buying road tax online

    How?

    Just realised (after a discussion in the office) that mine is due...erm...today. not had a reminder though.

    I've got the new computerised MOT certificate. anything else i need?

    You need a new style V5 as well. Have a look at http://www.direct.gov.uk/Diol1/DoItO...732&chk=ElyCKT

    You will need:

    your debit card or credit card (please note there is a £2.50 charge per transaction for using a credit card)
    valid insurance covering your use of the vehicle. If you are not the policyholder, you will need to get permission from the policyholder to enable the electronic check of the Motor Insurance Database
    the unique 16 digit reference number on your V11
    or the 11 digit reference number on V5C or V5 and your vehicle registration mark

    Last time I tried this it said it couldn't verify my insurance details. So I assume it relies on your insurance company being in on the scheme as well.

    I would assume so. I guess most, if not all the major insurers are going to be a part of this elephant/Admiral certainally are. I'll tell you, it really beats standing in line in a post office
