Well its likely that someone in the area took it for the parts so you need to keep an eye out for your parts on other 306s (All parts or just some).

We lost the adapter thing for our locking wheel nuts, took it to the tyre place as it needed new ones and they said 'no problem', got out any old adapter and a sledge hammer. Put it on the nut and whacked it with the sledge hammer then just unscrewed it.

Oh and apparently theives use spring loaded center punches to smash car windows, this won't really move the car at all so no motion sensors will be set off on the alarm.

Unless the car has ultrasonic sensors in the cabin

actually my shed of a 306 has ultrasonics as part of the standard fit alarm.

    - it does sound like it was stripped for parts.

be really carefull with the central locking on yours kitty - mine has a nasty habit of unlocking itself after its been locked which I'm going to sort out shortly. ( mind you anyone that steals it would probably get so pissed off with it after 5 metres they'd dropp it back with an apology )

Very sorry to hear about that - being a victim of crime often affects you more than just the material lose. I had a crummy bike nicked that wasn't worth anything at all, but you just feel almost violated that someone would bother to cause you any amount of distress.

At least you have insurance, so as long as everything was declared properly you will be absolutely fine. That's what it's there for after all, your no-claims will be back soon and at least you are getting something out of the insurance - they would far rather we all sat and built up our bonus' as it means they don't ever shell out

But the motion sensors should have gone off when the car was started and moved... I'd guess that's more for smash and grab type problems.

I'm sorry to say that is not the first I've heard of this sorta thing.

A friend of mine parked his Saxo (furio 1.4) on his drive one evening, came back the next morning, and the entire audio system had been stripped. This wasn't the factory setup, this was something that he had custom tailored to his car - Kenwood headunit, iPod Adapter, 4 Channel Amp, 10CD Changer, Power Cap, Sub, Door & Rear Speakers and the like. In total it cost him around a grand & a half to buy & get installed, and it was stripped in one night on his driveway of all places.

He never had much luck with that car, ended up getting rear ended by a transit van about 3 weeks later, wrote the car off. Well, he's happy with his VTR now

Perhaps the chavs saw the rear lights and thought it was a Lexus?. Seriously, it isn't an organised crime ring, its some boy racers with too much time on there hands who prolly fancied the alloys...

Whilst I never suggested organised crime, I can see where you got the suggestion. My point, and how I meant to express it, was that this type of crime is getting more common.

Could have been towed away? But then I dont see the point of smashing the back window... A Sierra cosworth recently on one of the ford clubs, was just put onto a tow truck, and towed away! All this outside the blokes house, in the afternoon! Fookin madness... Car theives are some of the most low life people out there

if you read ALL the thread you will find that i never put the lexus lights on as iv not got the conection so they where STANDARD

we think it got towed as does the police officer they think the back window was broken later on.

the drivers side lock had some damage on probley thinking that the master unlock (if youv lost you fob) is the drivers side door there sadly mistaken as mine had been been changed over to the passenger side by the owner before me so the police officer thinks the back window was then smashed to gain entry into the car as i had no door lockers in the front but had them in the back

without being funny, it is mansfield... take a drive round (in a friends car) and some dum fooker will be driving round with all your kit on the car...
chance is its a chav as well..

time for a drive round sutton and kirkby as well i think..

at least they didn't burn it out, must have been disturbed before hand..

would be gutted if it happened to me, saw a simular bm to mine in kirkby ( i think it was kirkby) up on bricks minus the alloys that would have had locking wheel nuts

You could probably flog those standard Peugeot alloys on eBay if they're not too scuffed
