Cinquecento was my first car, had it when I was learning to drive, go figure.
And my Megane is hardly a small/supermini is it. It has a huge boot.
Besides, I said I don't like not I've never had

You could say the same about any performance car to be honest... And the gearbox's aren't THAT bad.
Oh and high running costs translates to rediculous petrol usage. My pulsar (admittedly tuned quite a lot and running fairly silly boost) did literally 25 miles to £10 worth of Optimax once - which was worrying.
LOL your joking 25 miles bloody hell thats silly? was it fast though?
That's not a problem with small hatchbacks though, that's a problem with tuning your engine to silly levels.
Got to admit I'm in the same boat that I do not like Hatchbacks one bit, although I did bite the bullet when I got my A3, only has the 180bhp and 4x4 was appealing.
Now look at me, I have an A4 Cab and a Land Rover, not exactly small hatchbacks are they? I'm 24 btw.

The Inheritence payed for the A3, all others since then have been worked for.

I want an E39 M5 or an E92 335i Sport next. But these are both a VERY long way off - I really want to keep my 530i for 4-5 years, at least until after I get uni out of the way anyway. Who knows, circumstances will probably change and I might have to keep it longer, but aspiration wise, one of the above two probably..
Yup, I much prefer larger stuff. I think they look better, plus you get a load of kit and a decent engine to boot. The fact they often cost the same as smaller stuff is another bonus. To me, a nice Saloon with bodykit, decent wheels, etc etc is my idea of a great looking car. Obviously I'd love a Ferrari F430 or something but compared to Civics and suchlike, it's saloons for me. The fact they are 'practical' is a co-incidence and nothing to do with why I like them.Your car history has been a Citreon Xantia Diesel IIRC? and a Mondeo. They seem to be more family cars, not the normal city type hatchbacks.
Most of my mates, if they drive which most do not, have Clios and suchlike but then few of my RL mates are into cars at all. What do your mates drive? I can't imagine any of my pals owning a larger car until they are 28+ or have kids. I'm guessing you live at home during Uni and it's a long-ish drive?
Uni isn't actually a very long drive at all, I live 5 miles from the Uni. Although at the moment I am on a placement and this is a bit of a drive.
A full set of Eagle F1's is £380, just £60 more than for the Mondeo. I was actually quite suprised at this, thinking I would need to budget £500 for new tyres. Service wise - next service is an Oil Service, and 15k miles after that, an Inspection 1, then 15k miles after that, another Oil Service. Oil Service is £200 at BMW, £100 at independant. Inspection 1 £200 at Indy, £300 at BMW. Not super cheap, but not eye watering.I wonder how much it will cost to maintain per annum? Tyres? Services? etc....
I think the BIG running cost with it is likely to be repair bills. It is a BMW, which means it wont break every day but when it does break, it won't be cheap. I am budgetnig approx £2k a year for repairs. If I don't need to spend that, great, but at least if I do I've budgeted for it.
ThanksNice motor

I've spoken to a few gti-r owners, and they say fragile is an understatement. I won't be getting a real gti-r, due to insurance...but a mint sunny with eventually one of the gt engines in, maybe from an almera or primera. Can do all the work myself in about 8 months once I finish my courses.
Nice BMW btw... Love the angel eyes.
Still need to sort your sig!
