    My next bike...

Okay, come March next year I want to be buying my next bike (Although I might buy it sooner than that in the big winter selloff - pansies)...

I'm currently riding an RS125 - Nippy little 2stroke race rep which just about reaches a ton... sixty comes in about 7 seconds.

Anyway, I plan on getting a sports 600 next, so my choices are the Yamaha R6, Suzuki GSXR600, Kawasaki ZX6R and the Honda CBR600.

I'm not really going to post anything about the specs of each because they're all in the same league and to be honest there isn't really that much between any of them, so for now I guess it'll be on looks alone.

    So...

    1999 Yamaha R6

    2003 Kawasaki ZX6r 636

    2000 Suzuki GSXR600

    2001 Honda CBR600

Probably will spend up to £3k, which these all fit into... personally I feel slightly swayed to the R6... it's just so frikken cool.

Asked my biker friend which of the 4 he'd take and he said that he'd go for the CBR without any doubt. Said that it'll be much better to live with even if R6 might be a bit cooler/faster. Said R6 is gonna do your back in, the Kawasaki is a bit heavy on the handling and the GSXR looks naff.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.

CBR would be my second choice, I just don't like the seating design (one big long seat for rider + pillion), and that color scheme isn't great but i'm sure there would be a design that takes my fancy.

R6 if you want a 'proper' race rep - ie the fastest, most balls out 600. It is the most cabable, but also the most difficult to ride.
CBR if you fancy a hint of comfort with insane speeds. The 600 has been replaced by the RR (SuperSports), but remains as a Sports 600 in the Honda Range.

Otherwise, if you can go any newer, then a k5 or k6 gixer 600 is meant to be VERY good

Deffo the R6 or the CBR ,if you have no pillion to worry about ,the R6 is fine ,but if you intend to take a pillion regularly the Cbr is better , dont feel like you are perched on a brick ! Dont worry about the colour of the CBR some really cool ones out there!

Personally I'd get a later GSXR (the one without the droopy tail).

It depends what you want really. The GSXR has pretty much always been the best handling of the 600s, whereas the Kwak is the most comfortable (and the most torquey, thanks to it's bigger engine- highest top speed too).

If you don't like the seat arrangement on the Honda then get the sporty version- the CBR600FS. The first generation R6 is a bit behind the times now but prices hold up just because of the looks (is my guess).

I own a zx6r and would happily recommend one to you as a first bigger bike otherwise the cbr would be the easiest to live with and not have to ride on the edge all the time. But dont get banana yellow

    I got an '04 CBR600F - and can recommend one 110%

It's unbelievably bullet-proof build quality, along with Honda's usual reputation for reliability. And with a few mods, can easily out shine an R6 (imo) on the looks front. It is probably the most likely to survive winter riding (I ride mine everyday in ALL weathers including winter) fairly unscathed. It will also be easier to live with, more forgiving for the novice "big bike" rider and possibly cheaper to insure...

    Here's mine:

I also have a m8 who has the ZX6-R (2001). It is a little on the heavy side and I really don't like the cage around the bars, but it sounds superb and goes just as well (well almost) as my CBR
