    Bluetooth / MP3 headunit

    All,
Any recommendations of something which does both of these things. I don't want to mess about with loads of cabling, so I'm considering:

    DEH P55BT
    DEH P75BT
    Sony MEX-BT5000

Basically I want something where all I do is connect up the head unit via an ISO wiring loom and go. I've heard reports that the P55BT may need a radio signal amplifier?

The unit is to go in a 2001 Passat. Does anyone have any of these?

    Cheers...

    Tom

Do you have either of those units then? I don't want to have uninstall the unit and mess about with an amp afterwards.

I've not seen the Sony yet so can't comment on that one, but I was looking at the 55BT Pioneer before I bought my current HU. I decided against it as it felt cheap, nasty, and the sound quality was not as good as I was expecting. I have also read reviews that say the Bluetooth function was not all that good. It suffers bad interference if the phone is too close to the head unit, which is not good seeing as though the phone will be quite near when ever you're in the car!

Like I've said before, I'd get a decent HU, ie an Alpine, and get the BT phone kit separately. Something like the Parrot BT kits would do.

The problem with doing that is that it's gonna cost me circa 120 quid to have fitted!

I can drop in a headunit, connect the wiring via an ISO unit, and I'm good to go. If I have to start connecting various bits and pieces up, I'm going to have to get it professionally fitted.

Anyone recommend a decent place in Outer W. London who won't rip me off?

    Tom
