it won't do 270 mph. it theoretically would but its limited to 225 - but that's based on gearing and revs, not on actual power. still, mighty impressive

I think the interesting thing about the Veyron isn't that it'll do silly speed - it's just that it'll do it all day every day reliably. That's why it's an engineering marvel and why so much R&D cost was incurred.
I love TVRs but I wouldn't rely on one getting me to work every day

tbh, on a car like that, does peak torque really matter an iota? i mean.. it'll shift you so damn quick all the way thru - 2-5,000 rpm in most gears will only be a couple of seconds

might not be as good on looks as a veyron, but no supercars are bought on reliability (clue, they're not nearly as good as a focus because they're so bespoke). neither car will go to someone who's not got a massive garage - i think it'll sell pretty well

The other thing about the veyron is that its rock stable at those high speeds, well until you decide to go 250 on your way to the shops and need to lower the spoiler. The bristol doesnt apear to have any spoiler
