Well done mate
Well done mate
Congrats fella - what are you getting/did you get?
My examiner and my instructor had a full blown argument following my test. Apparently the way the instructor had taught us to do emergency stops (or rather what to do once we had stopped) was wrong. I thought the way we were taught seem more sensible, but the examiner took exception and after watching 3 of us from the same school do that same thing one after the other - he flipped and had a right go at our instructor (not to mention at a bewildered me whilst we were out on the test)
A bit scary to watch after you've just dismounted and don't know if you've passed or not....
Fear not - I did...

What did you examiner say vs the instructor then?
Try and get a 400 ZXR, that was my first bike after passing my DA, very fast for a 400 and cheaper insurance to
Grats man
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
Basically the argument revolved around what you should do immediately following an emergency stop. You've just slammed on the anchors and are in the middle of the road in the wrong gear - what next?
We were taught to look to both sides around us and "paddle" the bike with our feet to the side of the road (with the clutch in), where we can sort the gears out in safety.
The examiner took real exception to this for some reason.
He said we should check that behind us was clear, before sorting out the gears in the middle of the road and moving off. He said that we "wouldn't paddle to the side of the road if we were in lane 3 of the motorway". Well er...no obviously not - we ain't stupid. My instructor retorted with "well you wouldn't sit in the middle of the road on a blind bend and sort your gears out either..."
The debate carried on for about 10 mins when eventually they both went inside with my instructor coming out afterwards looking pixxed off about 5mins later. Finally my examiner came out saying that I'd passed.
The intercom was blue on the way back to the riding school

Madmaca - that was exactly what I was taught, exactly what I did and passed with 4 minors The examiner didn't say anything, jus "thank you, we'll continue the ride now...."
Hey Orbiter, did you get that paint etc done, or buy it like that. Looks a lot like my 400F asthetically (but obviously very different), would like it to look a bit better tbh.
Whats the point in a 400 if all hes doing is going to work on it ?
Anyway congrats Agent, i should be taking my A test round june july or i might plum for the DAS if i manage to get enuff hrs on a geard bike.
RIP mate.
Congrats Agent, Im a bit behind the times I know!
I passed my theory test over the weekend, gotta save up to do a practical course and test now....
If you're not living on the edge, you take up too much room
It's all down to confidence, especially when you have only just passed...
I felt VERY vulnerable on a 125 while I did my CBT, and felt a lot safer on the 500cc bike during my DAS and found the balance of a bigger bike a lot more forgiving while moving. Of course it is heavier and more twitchy at low speeds, but that comes with experience. When the world is out to kill you (well that what you should be thinking when you get on a bike), feeling confident is the most important factor.
I went and bought a GPZ500s as my first bike....then I quickly outgrew that and have had my CBR600 for almost 2 years now...

MadMaca - which CBR have you got - F or RR? Looking at the F, but they have discontinued it, which means all the new buyers are going to be after the nearly new ones, pushing the price of the bikes I like the look of up
I have 2004 CBR600F (rumages to find a pic...)
I wish it was still that clean
It's a great bike - I really don't understand why Honda have left it so long without releasing a new model... (but rumour has it they will). It's fast, comfortable, reliable, looks and sounds good (with a few mods) - a real all-rounder....
I ride mine to work every day, rain or shine (apart from Snow)...and regular weekend rideouts. I love it!

Thats why I really wanted a CBR600F or FS, cause they are comfortable enough to do big miles, but quick & agile enough to have some fun
Other thought was one of the 01/51 Fazers that still had Carbs, before EU Emissions regs killed em off - they have more power than the modern one, and no fueling glitch
Edit - notice crash bungs, trying to save the fairing?
You can still get hold of new 600F's - and there are a few places doing 0% finance...
