    That's scary fast...

I always wonder: how can they remember every single turn?
I would bomb round a corner at 140, and forget there was a hairpin dead ahead!

Their lives depend on it, which is pretty good motivation...

It's like anything, do it enough and you'll remember it. I was calling every turn of that as I was watching it (I live on the Isle of Man). The scary thing is, that was only a practice session, and he wasn't that fast. The top boys are lapping around the 17 minute mark, best lap is average 129mph over the 37.5 mile lap, and with the changes they've made to Windy Corner and Brandish Corner, this year will see the 130mph lap got, and probably broken too.

Depends which race. The Senior (1000/750cc) race is 6 laps, the Formula 1 (1000cc) and Junior (600/400cc) are 4, the Super sport and Super stock races are 3 laps, and the sidecars (Formula 2) race two 3 lap races.

To give a bit of perspective as to how fast they go.. a 17 minute lap for them takes me just over an hour, driving "enthusiastically"

And Joey's last bike (Demon Honda VTR1000) was geared for 236ish.. and when I watched him in his last Senior race at Begarrow, you could hear the standard issue Honda "clunk" as he changed into top gear It was magical... Begarrow is at the end of a 2.5 mile straight (fast)
