Today is a GOOOD day - wife just passed her test!

...on the sixth attempt (yes I was beginning to lose hope). TBH she's had a lot of bad luck and a supreme lack of confidence which hasn't helped any. The annoying thing was she's a good driver (with me in the car) but (as we all know) on a test it's a different kettle of fish.

I think we're getting very drunk this evening

Awww that's fantastic! well done to her

I think the more tests the worse your nerves, I have my 3rd test coming and I'm trying not to think about it, just concentrating on lessons at the mo!

I was fine on my first test, but I went to pieces on my 2nd found it a lot worse 2nd time around.

Have a good night tonight, She deserves it!

After her 4th she was pretty devastated - her fifth and she was like 'meh' which was the right attitude.

Now I have someone to drive me to drinking establishments it almost seems worth the 2k++ i've spent (sorry, 'we' spent) lol

And no, we're not going to drink and drive daddy

Six must be a lucky number for girls as this is the number my girlfriend passed on, she is an ok driver too but finds it hard to park. Anyway good luck

She's doing ok but had a couple of near misses at junctions with me in the car - apparently she's 'fine' on her own..

Perhaps that's true, but it doesn't stop me worrying about her lol.

Pretty much the same for my GF, she passed 3 weeks ago tomorrow and has had a few lucky escapes. Its seems having big green P plates on the front and back give people "extra" incentive to wind her up.

Shes had people undertaking her and cutting her up, people driving up her backside and flashing lights at her, no one seems to give her any time to do anything at all. Shes doing her pass plus at the moment, hopefully this will help her.

Does she use P plates? My gf wont take them off as she says for every person that winds her up there will be someone who gives her time and space. I think thats more of a 10 to 1 ratio!

    Cheers,

Actually - I fully agree with you there. I won't let her put P-plates on because when we had L-plates on the car all we got was constant hassle. Doesn't matter what speed you do, people MUST overtake (and usually dangerously).

My father is a driving instructor and he tells much the same story.. I don't think all driver are bad but for the ones that are, a P/L plate is a target for them..
