From what I can tell HX450 isn't even offered in USA

7 years is for Europe, I suspect the Scan person you talked to isn't aware that this particular Corsair PSU has 7 years warranty.NOTE: This product is currently not available in North and South America.
If you look at the Scan listing and click on "special features" it lists 7 years :S
Would be nice for a Corsair/Scan rep to clarify if it is 7 yrs (although 5 years is still good)

I don't know of any reason the warranty would be any different in the UK. 7 years.

Thanks Yellowbeard. I eventually found my answer which was in the Corsair forums (link in post #5)

7 year warranty is a very long time especially for a psu, other than being modular is there any internal difference between the hx450 and the vx450?
AFAIK they both use the same platform and are both made by Seasonic. Beyond that I'm not sure. And yeah, 7 years warranty is awesome!!!
It's just a shame that there is no UK RMA centre. Shipping is ridiculous to the Netherlands, I think around £16 was the cheapest I found, there might be alternatives I'm not aware of. Would appreciate such methods, couriers to keep in mind.
Anyway, if the PSU breaks down or develops a fault, what happens when it is returned, is it repaired or replaced with a new one? Would very much welcome a reply to this question in particular from Corsair, maybe Yellowbeard?
Many thanks.
I thought you could return it to Scan (if you bought it there)?
Why has yours gone wrong ?
None of my Corsair's have had any problems and I got the first of my 3 620 HX's around summer 2006 (IIRC) and have been running it 24/7 since.
I also have had quite a few Seasonic's ...again, none of which have had any problems and have been working for even longer.
The reason why say this is because that this amounts to quite a few units that all have to work very hard and none have given me any problems.

If you bought it from another retailer, I don't know which courier company is the cheapest.
A Staples store (mainly on retail parks) near me have DHL courier service. It might work out cheaper than Royal Mail.
No but just for reference, my HX520W is running sweet (touch wood).
I've always been aware of the Scan Returns policy for their items including Corsair PSU's but just was wondering what other options there were, haven't had the best of RMA's with them, although it got sorted in the end.
