    !!Buying a new computer!!!

    Hey guys,
Im currently looking to buy a new computer. After spending some times on the internet, here what i found:

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Mobo:
ASUS C2D Striker Extreme SLI S775 NF680i Motherboard

    Processor:
    Intel Core 2 E6600 2.40GHz 4M Cache Conroe

    Memory:
    Corsair XMS2 2GB Kit PC2-6400 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4)
( Should i buy the pro version of this memory? )

    Video card:
    BFG 8800GTX 768MB PCI-E Video Card

    Power Supply:
Enermax 600w FMA NOISETAKER (20/24+6+8 PCI-E SLI COMP) PSU
    ----------------------------------------------------------

I'm already having a 200g maxtor SATA hardrive. I would like to know if those or a good choice to run windows Vista Home edition. Im usually playing alots of different games ( ex: Oblivion, Battlefield 2142, Supreme Commander ) and I would like to be able to play all of those without any problems at high details. ( 1280x1024 )

Maybe after a month of two I will buy a second video card for SLI performance…. But for now, im just gonna stick with only one 8800GTX.
I would like to hear from u guys!

    Thanks!

Wrong section really but if it were me I would get the Abit 680i mobo or the new revision of the EVGA.

If you are planning to SLi two 8800 GTX that PSU isn't nearly going to be enough. Theres a list of certified psu's here

    http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html

Vista Home Premium might be better but it will run vista fine. Games dont seem to have much trouble with the 32bit version of vista but 64 in my expiereince has caused a few problems. Half Life 2 mainly.

I'd get the Asus Commando over the Striker, save some money and get similar performance. Its a great overclocker too, like Mike said you are going to need a 750W+ PSU to host SLI with GTX's. If I were you I would use a single GTX, its going to offer you just the same performance as SLI GTX would in games, you will just gain the odd FPS which won't be noticable to the human eye. Save the money and put it to one side for the next nvidia prduct to hit the market

Yes dont get 2 GTX's that would be completely pointless. Spend the money on an 20" or 22" monitor

didnt notice the 1280 x 1024! lol yeah you'll never need two gtx's for that. One is overkill.

Save even more money and get the GTS 640mb which is more than enough to run at that res with full eye candy.
Or better still get the GTX and a 24 inch Dell

If youre going to get a 680i board get the Abit or evga. Also there is no point getting two gtx's one will be overkill as many of the other posters have said, possibly get a bigger monitor with the cash youve saved. For one GTX the corsair PSU's are ideal http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=446787
Otherwise that will be a very nice system. Have FUN!
