Hello there, just hoping some of you might have a clue what is going on with my computer at the moment. It's nothing really major, but it's irritating as hell.
Basically, there is suddenly a very high-pitched noise coming from inside the computer. This noise started the second I placed my new bluetooth adapter into the usb port on the back of the computer. When I unplug, or disable the bluetooth adapter, the noise stops, so it is definitely this which is causing it.
However, the noise doesn't appear to be coming from the bluetooth adapter, which is what I thought it was at first. It's coming from inside the case.
Could it be something to do with the PSU, and me having plugged in an extra device - not something specifically to do with the bluetooth adapter, just that it's using up a bit more power? Seems unlikely to me, especially since this noise now occurs when I am doing nothing on the computer, yet it never happened before whilst playing games etc, when the power usage would have been higher than it is at the moment.
Also, another strange thing is that the noise seems to stop for a split second in certain circumstances, such as when something is loading. i.e., if I click My Computer, in the split second during which the My Computer window loads up, the sound stops. Then it just begins again as normal.
And when I'm actually using bluetooth (because it's working fine, aside from this noise), the noise seems to flicker on and off, as if it it is off whenever data is being received or transmitted.
Well, I know I've not given much detail, and this could possibly be very difficult for you to point at the cause of the problem without more info, but if you need more details just tell me what you want to know. Hopefully somebody who's more experienced with these things will be able to help me.
Thanks
