Advice for DIY Bittorrent Media Storage Server

I wish to build a Network operating Media storage server, which can also Torrent without using the full power of my standalone PC. My aim is to be able to access files from my HTPC media streamer and PC but house them on this box.

The box will be hidden so looks do not matter - possibly hold upto 3 HDD. But be quiet.

Any suggestions for parts - few will be recycled, however I have some OCZ Rev 2 DDR 553

I would have a look at an Atom setup.

none of the atom boards have more than 2 sata ports, I would look at an amd board. Look at this thread for my media server build:

I would consider what webby suggested for your needs
(assuming you want miniITX to save space wherever you're hiding it)

Any old spec will do this. I do this on my ubuntu box with 2.6ghz single core opteron and ddr1 ram etc. Got 4x1TB hard drives in there. I use torrentflux-b4rt.
