    Antec 900 questions

Looking into maybe getting this case but I am worried that my 4870 might not fit has anyone actually got this case with a 4870?

Also is their any better case around that fits the pricing range of the the 900 (£70 ish)?

God buying a new case seems more harder a choice than any other piece of hardware

    Re: Antec 900 questions

shouldn't be an issue, as a alternative consider the coolermaster 690, go for the side panel window version if possible, the grill on the side fan is much better and while you lose the option for a 2nd side panel fan it cannot be used with a large/tower cpu cooler any way.
Main down side is you cannot eaisly use older ide hard drives in the cm690, sata are fine

Also consider the coolermaster 590, basically the same case with simpler looks and some internal changes (can use ide hard drives without issue)

    Re: Antec 900 questions

Thanks for the offer RJKP but I will probably be after a new case when I get one, still I will keep the offer in mind any idea what sort of price you want for the 900 though inc postage?

I do like the coolermaster 690 but I think that the 900 comes with 2 more fans preinstalled making it a bit better value over all?

Antec 900 comes with 3 x 120mm fans, 1 x 200mm fan and the option to install an additional 120mm fan on the side panel.

    Re: Antec 900 questions

maybe like £50 including postage. Not sure what prices are now or anything, but any reasonable offer would get accepted. PM me if you decide you want it.

    Re: Antec 900 questions

Just confirming my 4870 fits in my Antec 900. Tis a tight squeeze with one of the SATA ports underneath the card (thank the Lord for angled cables!), and it also quite a squeeze if you use the top hard drive (2nd & 3rd hard drives in the cage poke out a little.

With decent cable management I got it all fitted quite nicely.

    Re: Antec 900 questions

I have a 4850 IceQ TurboX in my Antec 900. I think it's slightly lager than the stock card and it fits and there's about 4cm between that and the cage with the fan mount attached. 4870 should be fine but you might have to remove the fan mount to make room. It doesn't come with a fan pre-installed so you won't be losing any cooling.

    Re: Antec 900 questions

Yep the 4870 fits, you will have to remove the platic bit inside which is made to accomidate anouther fan (which is quite pointless anyway) and this is quite easy
