    Coolermaster ATCS 840

Originally I was looking at the Lian Li PC-A77B but SCAN don't have it on their site anymore.

So am shopping around and the above stands out as the most similar product, albeit slightly more pricey.

I think it's a good case and ticks all the right boxes; aluminium construction, removable motherboard tray and decent number of fans. Plus it's not a bad looking case.

Before I take the pluge and click buy...are there any other alternates out there that people can recommend or ownership feedback?

    Cheers

I can tell you what NOT to get, the TJ09. Well saying that, ive not had decent fans in mine yet...although it looks and feels very nice, its just..lacking decent air flow from the front i think.

I've got a TJ-09 (since 2006) and have found the airflow to be pretty damned good..? Akasa Ambers are my case fans..

How many hard drives are you planning on?
If you're not looking at a raid array and only looking at one or two then consider the NZXT Panzerbox
It's an odd layout compaired to most, has more room than you might think at first glance due to it's extra width, mixed steel & aluminium construction, good cooling and a FULL motherboard tray.

There's always the Lian Li PC-A70B, which is only a partial removable motherboard tray. (ie just the tray not the back plate, so you need to take off all your expansion cards to fit/remove it.

I put alot of research into cases before I finally chose the Silverstone TJ07 - but TBF that's all down to my love affair with the way it looks and the fact that I am going the WC route.
I did come to the conclusion that of the high end aluminium cases out there I felt that the CoolerMaster was one of the best, heres what Hexus thought of it:

also the Corsair offering looks pretty impressive:

I say throw caution to the wind, buy a TJ07 and jump into the lovely world of watercooling!!!!

Seriously though GL with the search

    Re: Coolermaster ATCS 840

The NZXT Panzerbox does not appeal to me Right now I have 6 HDDs, 3 of which are currently installed in my current case and that is as many as I can get in there (without impeding the GTX260).

I've read the review of the ATCS 840 on hexus. I also don't like the Corsair offering of a case - too expensive for what it is in my eyes and I feel the Hexus review was too generous.

TJ-07 is £200...too much for me.

I was looking at the TJ-09 but decided the coolermaster seemed more "feature-rich". Of course I could be completely wrong.

Not a fan of the Lian Li PC-A70/71 series..my heart was set on the PC-A77B.

Looks like the Lian Li PC-A77B has been Discontinued

This place says it's still got the silver version in stock

No idea what they are like or if they do actually have it in stock.

Shame it's been discontinued. Oh well. Guess it's the ATCS 840 then!
