the price is not around £188 its around £230+ and that is a rip off in my opinion. not worth it at that price tag

Re: Reviews - Cooler Master ATCS 840 - The return of a legend?

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this article, as I have a ATC-111C-SX2 housing the rig on my desk right now, and an ATCS Wavemaster housing my HTPC. I was really hoping for a return to the glory days. I like some of the features of this case, but I'd love to see it in brushed aluminum (non-anodized) finish. Also its probably a little large for my personal tastes/needs. Hopefully this new ATCS case is just the start of a new wave of awesome

The Cooler Master ATCS 840 price remains at £240 at most etailers, but this is due to drop to £188 very soon, we're reliably informed.

Re: Reviews - Cooler Master ATCS 840 - The return of a legend?

Out of interest, if PC Case prices are coming down, then why is the cheapest price for the Antec Twelve Hundred about £20 more expensive than when it came out?

Re: Reviews - Cooler Master ATCS 840 - The return of a legend?

The proposed price-cuts are based on the following statement from Cooler Master:

    http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=16476

We've also received word from Cooler Master's PR agency that the cuts will go into effect soon, and if it's not done in a week we'll amend the rating accordingly.

Re: Reviews - Cooler Master ATCS 840 - The return of a legend?

i just watched the review video of this case. im having seconds thoughts on this case due to the negetives highlighted.

at this price point from £180+ i expect this case to be near perfect but because of no anti vibrating mounts, cheap front panel usb/firewire compartment and not to mention the difficulty of accessing the front dust filters, im not sure if this case is even worth £180+

at £150 its fine but anything above that i expect it to be near perfect imo.

Lian Li PC-A7010B for me it seems

Re: Reviews - Cooler Master ATCS 840 - The return of a legend?

The case was legendary for it's time (I still have a Black Widow, and would've had the 110 had it arrived in one piece). But it's been over 6 years since their glory days, and case design has moved on. Even at £188, this case is rather expensive for what you are getting IMO.

This has floated before on these forums. Price is way too high for a case like this.

Nice case, stupid price. Lian Li and Silverstone have cases in this price point and they
ooze more style and better designs.

More inclined to say Lian Li PC-A70 for £130 - seems to be the best bargin around at the moment.

true. not much difference if any compared to the PC-A7010B. just the hot swappable sata bling and the nafty mobo tray holes for cables. other then that, same interior and same air flow

Not confirmed, as no one will answer me from Lian Li, but there have been some recent pictures and reviews of the Lian Li PC-A70 with the same motherboard tray as the PC-A7010.

The hot swop SATA idea is all good, if you intend to use that hard drive rack.
