Actually with this dual rad setup, wouldn't it be a good idea to run it like this?
Res > pump > lower large rad > cpu > upper smaller rad > graphics cards > Res
I may be totally wrong as I've never done a water cooling steup, just a thought is all.

I think that is the most efficient - i would like it to be neat as well - see what it looks like when I start plumbing:)

Ok just realised fans were wrong way round (i'm planning rear exhaust and top intake for rad) so refitted and now bed time:)

In theory and in a perfect setup yes. However, there are other factors that can degrade the performance more. Let’s say you have top mounted rad's with a bottom mounted pump (not that unusual in older, often smaller case designs). Running a loop from the bottom pump, to the top rad, down to the mid mounted CPU, up to the other top rad, back down to the GFX, up to the reservoir, and back down to the pump would be quite detrimental to the flow. The extra lift required by the pump and resulting reduction in flow would be worse than where the radiators are actually connected.
For instance, right angle connectors are pretty to look at and can make the installation look very neat but they reduce the flow compared to a slightly longer, shallow bend.
In an ideal set up, I'd put the radiator next to the pump and have the shortest, least restrictive (ie. No right angle or sharp U bends) loop I could. In reality we often have to work around the case and component layout :(

Someones put their thermal dynamics and fluid dyanmics classes to good use I see! I don\'t know what\'s worse, that I understand you, or that I am thinking of ways to improve it like including the equivalent straight pipe length for a 90 degree bend... 2.5 if I recall correctly... :innocent:

Oh it's gets better... we also do STRUCTUAL MECHANICS, the study of how things fail. Really helpful if you wanna blow :censored: up without making a complete mess. :D

Word of warning about the Enermax fans in combination with a radiator
I was digging up more info on them before I get a 92mm version for a cpu cooler, I read a post someplace complaning about the side holes with a rad.
They said air was getting pushed out of the side holes instead of being drawn in, probably caused by the positive pressure created by having to push the air through the rad.
So test the fans with the rad, if this is the case and air get blow out rather than sucked in from the sides, then you'll want to seal the holes some how.

OK its been a long day today and had alot to do, have been with out the main PC till now due to transplanting so a big update is coming :)
First thing this morning the dremel came back out due to my inabilty to measure - the holes would hardly make a ruler happy but i'm not displeased with the end result - they will do their job perfectly!!

Next job was to strip the stacker out - suprising how quick that is - especially compared to the time that goes into cable tying/tidying etc the other way round!!
Now its time for the mobo and associated to move into their new home (at least till I can justify buting a core I7 system.........

I've now fitted the pump to the anti vibe base - although I managed to drill 4 holes in the case that don't really line up and due to the thickness of the base the screws don't fit either :rolleyes: Oh well I will see if it needs screwing down when I turn it on - right turned it on it vibrates and sound real nasty........................................hehe just kidding I'll wait till it gets wet:mrgreen:

One other thing I 'daisy chained' the four Xigs on the rad - now rather than pulling all the original cables apart - I left them all as they came - but then took 4 male fan plugs wired them to 1 female plug and attached the 4 males to the 4 females of the fans - not a Ninja solderer but it works fine and with a little braid and h/s ou don't see it:)

If my fans are pulling through the rad and my PSU is mounted behind - am I going to have a problem with the PSU and rad fans fighting - and if so am I better having the fans pushing through the rad?
This will be very annnoying though as i have fitted them now!!!!
