My EIZO FlexScan T68 monitor died.

But when I come to CeBIT than I asked a EIZO employed about it and he told me that it could have been repaired in a special Lab in Hamburg. But this was unfortunately too late for my monitor.

The problem was that it had began to come some very powerful electric shock through it and I got afraid about the hardware in my PC. So since it was 8 years old I decided to kill it! And make the "EIZO FlexScan T68 monitor - Gaming Case Mod".

The EIZO employed tooled me that he know about this problem and that the Lab in Hamburg has a steam chamber where the monitor could be repaired.

He told me that this problem comes from dust on the cathode that come when the monitor gets older.

The EIZO FlexScan T68 monitor was VERY good I can tell you the picture were totality carp an colorful. It was also a T model this mean it's with Tension cathode - that means there are two very thin wires there a visible on the front of the screen this holes a un visible grid on the inside of the screen front which makes the pictures better. There was also a cheaper model called EIZO FlexScan F67 but without Tension cathode and this monitor could not deliver that nice image quality.

BUT THERE WAS ALSO PROBLEMS WITH THIS MONITOR EVER IF IT HADE DELIVERT THE BEST PICTURES I EVER HAVE SEEN ON A MONITOR. Yes, you get red eyes if you sit too long at it. The manual said you should not sit more than two hours at it than you should make a break. And this was true but we computer people should always make breaks some time.

ALSO SEE HERE: This is the text I have made for my loved EIZO on my Case Mod homepage.

    HOMEPAGE:

When my fantastic EIZO FlexScan T68 died I felled very sorry since we already have been friends through 8 years where the EIZO FlexScan T68 monitor have given me the best pictures I ever have seen on a monitor. So I thought this should not be the end of my great EIZO so my imagination was questioned how could I still get anything out of my old monitor, even if it not could deliver any pictures anymore?

Since I like to have a PC case with my one touch I thought it could be nice to make a case mod where nearby all used hardware was visible. This was the beginning of my EIZO FlexScan T68 case mod project, where you could see the hardware I have used for my project through the acrylic glass I have build into the front of my old monitor.

YOU COULD HELP ME WIN A BRAND NEW EIZO!
