Thoes Appolish fans do look great, but I do wish they where not thermo controlled, every thermo controlled fan I've seen suffors from the same thing, that of no matter how hot an area within a computer they are used they never seem to speed up.

If you want a couple of fans for the top I'd sugest the YATE LOON 140mm - D14SL-12 with 4 Red Leds £6 each from Chilledpc.co.uk http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=913
I used thoes in project spork and I was very impressed with how quiet they are yet still move a decent amount of air

Yeah, I'd rather it spin at say 1200RPM or have a 4pin PWM control so that I could use it as the CPU fan. (not sure I'd want to use it as a CPU fan though, a bit too flashy to go on the inside haha, has to go on the side or front)

Still though, £12.52 for looks alone seems a bit of a ripoff haha. At least it ain't loud on the low setting, otherwise that would have been a total waste of money.

To be honest, I don't see the point in thermal controlled fans, they're not sensitive enough for the mainstream user. The jump was also too big for my liking, 700RPM to 1700RPM, as mentioned, is like riding a bike to taking a jumbo jet, travel much faster (more airflow is what I mean) but much more noise too.

Would love the Yate Loons for their price but the top is far too crowded. I don't think I'd be able to setup my cooler properly as I need to add the fan on after I install the heatsink. As there's only roughly 2-3cm at the top it would mean my pc would have to be sort of "permanent" as in I wouldn't be able to change the CPU easily etc. And knowing my nature, it just wouldn't work well haha. However, there's been a few custom things I've been looking up at that website such as fan cable braiding but I have no experience of using heat shrink so I'm going to have to leave till I've got more money... which may be never as next year I'm in uni which means increasing debts haha.

    Top fans

I am going crazy here with which CPU cooler to buy, noctua nh 12p is a great cooler even by the reviews on other sites... But after installing this cooler i guess there's no space on top for my 2 120 mm fans i've fit. i've also got a HD 5850 on my first PCIE express slot.
Do you think there'll be enough space for the noctua nh 12p to just fit in?
or else can u recommend a different cooler?
yes, i want to overclock to a minimum.

my rig, AMD phenom 965 BE(stock cooler)
    Gigabyte 790x ud4
    4gb
    nzxt m59(with all 5 fans fit, 120mm's)

    Overclocking or not?

There should be enough room for 25mm thick fans in the top, you will need to fit them before the cooler.
Depending on the mounting, not all coolers can be mounted in any direction on AM2/AM3, you could mount the cooler faceing up instead on back.

120mm fan based tower coolers don't vary that much in size, esp width and graphics card in the top slot will not be a problem.
The only motherboards I know of where it is an issue is the intel, socket 1156, H55 chipset, mITX boards where the cpu socket is directly above the pci-e slot

    PS welcome to HEXUS

As you see below, the NH-U12P fits really easily, I had all 5 fan slots fitted too with normal 120mm fans:

I never had a problem when installing and reinstalling the NH-U12P, and you'd be surprised at how many times I did.

The only problem I had was that with my current board (EVGA Micro X58 SLI) I couldn't install it blowing the air towards to back of the case as mATX motherboards are smaller and so their arrangement was more compact with the socket REALLY close to the top of the case, I had to then have the cooler blowing upwards, however, temperature was still roughly the same.

In conclusion, yes, you will be able to install it with your motherboard with no problems.

That air cooler serves me really well and is only slightly hotter than my current CoolIT Eco A.L.C..

Did you have any problems fitting the Eco's rad in the M59?

    Re: NZXT M59 Mini Review

It was quite hard to install as the side panel of the M59 clashes a bit as I installed it on the back, also I couldn't quite screw it into place as I needed flat screws as the side panel bit that overlaps onto the back of the case hits the screw so I ended up having only 2 screws, it worked fine though with no extra vibrations though. I guess I could have installed it on the top of the case quite easily too but I'm not so sure about that. It fit fine into my Lian Li V350 with no modifications though!
