Haha I didn't even notice them!

Unlucky Butuz, but looking good Azza

I've been busy with work and haven't had much time to further my build since getting my mobo, ram and psu but after seeing the updates on this thread I popped onto Scan to see no tj08s until the end of the month, I checked another place I was considering and saw no stock! Panicked I googled and found ebuyer had 2 left in stock so I pulled the trigger right away I'm not in a rush as I have no CPU or GPU yet so I opted for free shipping which hopefully should be ok. Butuz, if you want the TJ08 I would hurry, there's only the one left at ebuyer and if they are like scan it will be a fair few weeks before they get anymore in.

When the 670 comes out on Thursday I'll be looking at reviews and probably sorting out the final parts over the weekend so I'll pop back with an update after that

Re: Best cooling option for Silverstone TJ08E

Well guys, I know it's been a while but, as it often does, other stuff took priority and I had to take the build quite slowly. The HSF did end up giving me problems, which I couldn't quite understand until I realised human error was responsible and it had slipped off centre and was causing clearance issues with the GPU. One remount later and it seems to be ok and meant I could finally cable manage it all and get it complete.

However, as promised, I am back with a photo of what I ended up going with:

10 points for anyone who guesses what it was in the end

That's easy... the Thermalright Venomous X-RT. Well, if you're happy with the temps and the looks, it's all that matters!

Re: Best cooling option for Silverstone TJ08E

Hey ghost_florian, very close but it's actually the TR Venomous X Silent Edition I got it for a few reasons, decent price, +2 quiet fans and decent performance compared with other 120mm HSFs. You might be able to see I actually used the TR fans as case fans, one at the exhaust and the other elsewhere and I used an Apache Black I already had with one of the shrouds as it can push far more RPMs and its PWM so only ramps up when it's needed - I think we kind of established push/pull might not be worth it but if needs be I have another shroud to add another fan, though I think I prefer the silence. As for looks, well I think the Ven-X looks decent as a HS but it kind of gets spoilt by the fan/shroud, plus I only get to see it when the case is opened up so not an issue at all. Temps hover around 30 at idle with a i5-3570K and vary between 45-50 (depending on the core) at load, do these seem ok? Ihaven't had chance to look for temp. comparisons but I know Ivybridge is a hotter chip compared to Sandy. This is at stock btw as I still need to learn the UEFI BIOS and overclocking on this platform as I am jumping from C2Q on an old AMI BIOS which is quite a transition. Anyway thanks again for your help
