I'm using rubber fan mounts to keep noise down (very effective I might add), so I can't put screws through the grills. They're actually just glued on believe it or not, using impact adhesive. I wasn't sure how well it would work, but they seem very secure now.

Bit more progress.
Got the radiator shroud built and ran the wiring for the fans.

I've had a look on the Mountain Mods site, but the cases all seem to look generally very similar, as do the specifications.

Does anyone know what is the variating factor between the different UFO cases etc?

The optimax and opti-1203 have extra drive bays is the difference. Other than that there's just colour and window options.

Started moving stuff over today, have the mobo and water cooling stuff installed. Need to rework the tubing a bit and do a new fill/bleed cycle before it's up and running.

Well it's more or less complete now, in that everything is inside the case.

Here's a few pics:




Water cooling seems to be happy enough in there, and it's nice to have everything off the desk. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet my disks are now, only a slight whine from the scsi drive, and pretty much inaudible while seeking.

Still remaining to do is properly rigging up the fan controller (custom built temp sensing thing), it's just bodged in with all the fans running at 60% currently.
