    X-Box live Q?

A few months I connected up my ex step sons XBox to the household router so it could connect to XBox live.

The console detects and verifies the connection as working, but upon trying to go through the process of registering, it doesn't accept the code on the card (can't remember the message, but it seemed bizarre - something like "can't connect now, try later"?).

    Any suggestions?

    Re: X-Box live Q?

He tried repeatedly over a week ..... to no avail.

But obviously some parts of the service were working fine - it was saying that the various user-ids he was requesting were already in use, but it was the code that wasn't being accepted.

I'm not over at the house that much, but will see if I can check it this coming weekend.

Might be best to check the status codes in the network settings.

You should get some codes for iirc x , y and z

The only important one is z, if the code for Z is 8015 - 190D then it means the console has been banned.

I had a similar issue with a friends xbox - turned out he had bought the console 2nd hand and the console had been banned from xbox live.

    Re: X-Box live Q?

Had another go with the console at weekend, no joy.

The connection status comes up fine, says cables connected, IP configured, dns resolved, and it says connected to xbox live.

However, every single time you go through the process of trying to create a profile, we got a "Unable to continue due to technical difficulties". Not very good at all.

Could it be possible that Sky Broadband is hopelessly unsuitable for gaming? Or is it something else completely different then?
