    Metroid Prime 3...

    Is now out in Yankland.

Just read the IGN review and its obviously a very solid game.

'I call it the best game on Nintendo's console. It is clear from the moment you pick up the controller that Prime 3 was developed exclusively for Wii. Not only do the new controls respond quicker and with more precision than any dual-analog-helmed FPS ever created, but the gesture system works brilliantly, too. Meanwhile, the title delivers everything a Metroid fan could hope for, including spectacular environmental puzzles, epic boss fights and intense combat, all wrapped up in a package that spans multiple worlds and is filled with re-traversal exploration. A cinematic storyline made possible by beautiful art and graphics rounds out the experience, which is complemented by a medal system and WiiConnect24 compatibility.' - IGN.com

    Presentation - 10
    Graphics - 9.5
    Sound - 10.
    Gameplay - 9.5
Lasting Appeal - 9.0. (20 hours+ cording to the review)

    Overall 9.5

So its the best game on the Wii - better than Zelda then? Questionable. Likely to remain the best game with Smash Bros and Mario on the way? Probably not.

    Woo!

    Re: Metroid Prime 3...

After playing Red Steel, (yuk) I was afraid that the first person shooter genre wouldn't work on the wii, and that metroid prime 3 may be a dissappointment.

However.... after reading quite a few reviews it seems this game is really top notch, and the controls are spot on. Definitely looking forward to this, but as always, how long are you gonna make Europe wait for Nintendo??!!

    Re: Metroid Prime 3...

You can't compare Red Steel to Metroid Prime 3.

Metroid Prime and Prime 2 were both far better than Red Steel, on the Cube, so Metroid 3 was always going to bury it. This game has pedigree - unlike Red Steel this game was only going to be released when it was ready, and wasn't a cheap way to show what the Wiimote could do.

Have no doubts that this game looks great, sounds great, plays great, with exploration and puzzles, not just mindless run and gun, AND adds a shooty system that knocks spots off anything else you can play on a console, with those old fashioned 'control pads', like they used to use in the olden days, on the Master System and Xbox360.

EDIT - Actually, better add PS3 to that list, or I'll start a war. You know what these forums are like.

Only comparing the genre, both being fps games.

I only played Metroid Prime 1, but yeah definitely better than Red Steel. However Metroid Prime 1 & 2 were played with control pads. After playing Red Steel and experiencing the wii controls for an fps game I was gonna worry whether they would pull off prime 3 successfully with the wii controls system.

This makes me want (need!) a Wii so badly, i loved the metroid games on GC, when mario is out i think my credit card is getting a dust off.

    Re: Metroid Prime 3...

It looks fantastic and after looking at a load of nice videos (Gametrailers has some HD ones) I cant wait. Going to preorder it methinks. Only problem is that I've just moved house and currently have no HDTV (And only that will do it justice!!!) - but I've got some time to sort that out!!!

But the controls sound great and fluid. This could open up the doors for some decent FPS games potentially. Cant wait
