What the minge is going on with the review scores for this game, then? Its so confusing I wasn't even able to get the spelling right in the thread title.
I usually rely on the IGN and Gamespot reviews to get an idea of what a game is like before I buy, they usually have pretty much the same score, with the GameSpot review score being a point or so lower than the IGN one, as IGN tend to have a slight ZOMG factor to their reviews.
IGN review - IGN: Assassin's Creed Review - 7.7, a very average score.
Gamespot review - Assassin's Creed for Xbox 360 Review - Xbox 360 Assassin's Creed Review - a much more solid 9.0
So not only do they differ wildly, its Gamespot who have given it the better score. Weird one that.
T'plot thickens as well, because IGN Australia gave it an 8.7, which is pretty close to the Gamespot score, but IGN UK gave it a very poor 6.5, even worse than the main IGN review score.
So this game really has split opinion. The two sites can't agree if its great or average, and the difference between the lowest score (6.5) and the highest (9.0) is pretty big considering these are all pro reviewers who should come to roughly the same conclusion, most of the time.
I don't know if this is a must buy or a massive let down.
Its looked great when I've seen it running, but obviously a game that gets 6.5 from any proper review has to have issues. These issues are clearly enough to spoil the game in some peoples opinions.
What we reckon then?
I was going to get it, but now I might wait for some of you lot to report back.
Its out in 2 days for the 360; £39.99 standard edition, and a £59.99 limited edition with a figure. This is only listed for the PS3 on Gameplay though, so dunno if thats PS3 exclusive.
