Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - scheduled for March 2008

My copy arrived this morning and I went home on my lunch break to give it a quick bash.

I had a good 45 minute run and in this time I managed to create my character, map my face on, customize the dudes armour and arsenal and play through the 1st mission. I can say I'm very impressed.

One of the new features which I didn't read about is being able to direct your team mates to throw grenages/flashbangs where you want them during firefights, not just when entering rooms which I think is a welcome addition. This means that you don't have to rely on your own stock to take out enemys (though from what I can tell doing this doesn't add to your ACES).

But so far my 1st impressions are that of a grinning maniac with an itchy trigger finger... now I'ev gotta wait 4 hours till I can play again

I don't think I'm too fond of the XP system. It's going to take absolute years to unlock all the weapons. It's a good idea, but once you've gone up a few ranks, it takes even longer to get to the next rank.

I'll probably have to cheat to get all the weapons.

I'm not planning on playing it online - so I think it's going to penalise me. I've got xbox live, but there's nothing worth playing online when Counterstrike source is better to play online.

lol css is soo old school and full of hacks.. your missing out big time because online is where vegas shines the most! let css go, its time to hang up those css gloves of yours and enter a new phase, a new world of vegas 2 action!

I'm still slugging my way through the campaign but would be a bit of fun!!

Add me to your friends list if you're interested in hexus shoot out! See how many we get then set a time/date.. or if a bunch of us are on at the same time we'll do one sooner!

I've managed to get the majority of the weapons over the past few days. All I've done is play through the campaign (which is quite short) on normal difficulty, done a few terrorist hunts offline and on. The weapons are earnt through the ACES and not the ranks. So its pretty quick.

Why don't we try and get a load of Hexus members online at the same time for a mess around game?

I'm so up for this. The online terrorist hunts are great fun, I've only done a couple of the competative matches but they were a good laugh.

Nah can't beat CSS. I only go on 3 servers where I effectively know everyone, and the admin team is pretty good, so the hackers/idiots get kicked and banned pretty quickly.

I played the original R6V on live a few times, but it was rather poor compared to online PC games.

Anyone else want to play? Add me to Live as a friend and we can get some Hexus games going when we're all online!!

Yea Gr that was some cool games the other night. we wasnt giving up all in killing all terrorists at veteran level hehe damm i never had soo much fun in an online game for ages.

I should be on play R6V2 at some point this week, although saying that it depends on weather or not I can get the Mrs off that live arcade brain training game

I'm up for this. Most of the random servers I join are full of racist, hateful teenages with verbal diaroea. So it'll be nice to have a sesh with some Hexites

Only problem for me is when. I get a lot of '15 minutes' here and there at the moment but not enough time for multiplayer.
